      Most up to date version of Dios Mios?
      D2x v8 wads installed through IOS 236?
      Game is a good dump and compatible with DM?
      NMM and other options turned off to start with?

      I am by no means an expert on this stuff, but I went through all these steps and it is now working for me, so I wish you the best.

      - Yes, primary and active (used EASEUS)
      - As far as I know I am using the most up to date USB Loader GX and DIOS MIOS
      - This one I am not to sure of (D2x v8 wads), would you happen to have a link to this so I may install it?
      - I am backing up my Super Smash Bros Melee from a legit copy and yes it is compatible (the link on the front page says it was)
      - Also what is the NMM?

      Thanks for helping me out man!

      EDIT: I just downloaded the D2x v8 and put it into the "apps" folder on my SD. I then launched in from the homebrew channel but I am unsure which settings I need:
      - Select cIOS:
      - Select cIOS bse:
      - Select cIOS slot:

      You can get Dios Mios v2.0 here. (I used update 5 version) Downloads - diosmios - DIOS MIOS allows you to run Gamecube games from an USB device on your Wii. - Google Project Hosting
      You can get the modded version of USB Loader GX v3.0 here (I used the All in One Package for IOS249) Downloads - usbloader-gui - USB Loader GX: GUI for Waninkoko´s USB Loader (based on libwiigui) - Google Project Hosting
      Instructions on installing Loader GX here http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...gx-v3-0-a.html
      Everything d2x here (I think there were 7-8 different files. They should be placed in your 'wads' folder on the root of your sd, and installed using your preferred WAD installation program. I installed using IOS236, and reinstalled Dios Mios on 236 immediately after updating my d2x.) http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...ion-guide.html
      NMM is one of the options you can use through USB Loader GX. I believe it works as a virtual memory card for GC, but it also breaks compatibility for some games. I have a physical memory card, so I've never had to use it.

      Again, good luck. I know how I felt once I got it to work, so just trying to help another get to that point to. Pay it forward, right?

      For some reason it won't let me drag the iso into the windows batch wad creator. Do you happen to know how i'd fix this?

      To add to my last post, the link for the modded version of USB Loader GX is somewhere in this thread. I am trying to find it as we speak, but the file name should be USBLoaderGX_r1193_mod02. Unzip that and you should have a boot.dol file. Copy that to your sd:\apps\usbloader_gx folder, and overwrite your old boot.dol file. That completes the mod.

      Thanks again!

      - I have the latest version of the DIOS MIOS and USB Loader GX
      - Installed them both correctly
      - Downloaded the 7 .wad files for D2x v8 and installed them using WAD Manager 1.7 (on IOS236)
      - Re-installed DIOS MIOS on IOS236
      - Launched USB Loader GX and tried playing Super Smash Bros and it still got stuck at the black screen (NMM was set OFF(by default))

      I am not sure why if I do the same thing as someone who did it and it worked why mine isn't working? Did i ruin something when I misunderstood your directions and installed using the "D2X cIOS installer"? I am just not sure

      I think we are reaching the limits of my expertise here. Do you have any other games you could try and install? Maybe try reinstalling SSBM again after all our fixes? Maybe a reinstall without compressing the file. I am as baffled as you are.

      It's in the same folder that the create_wad.bat file is in...And did you really have to quote the entire guide? That takes up a lot of space you know.

      However, If you create the wad file a different way, the folder will be in the place where the original gamecube iso file was. So there are really only two places you can check. The folder where discEX and create_wad.bat are. And the folder where you dragged your iso file from.

      HEY! Just put the D2X cIOS installer in your apps folder. It will download all the necessary files for you granted you have the internet connection.

      HEY! LISTEN! You need to install all the custom IOS using IOS 236 which is a modded IOS 36. Just follow the instructions. I don't have the link to IOS 236 installer right now (also isntalls from the net) but I think it's on this very site. So just search for it.

      HEY! LISTEN! You need to install IOS 236 FIRST! Use it TO install the rest of d2x's ioses. There is a d2x guide on this site. Just search for it.

      HEY! Here's the link! d2x installer But Install This first link! IOS236 Installer

      LISTEN! Don't go on the pirate ship.... (this comment is actually very important to installing IOS236)

      Thanks for all the help you have provided, I am currently uninstalling SSBM and going to try installing MarioKart double dash (compatibility list says it should work as well)

      EDIT: Still stuck at the black screen

      @cwjakesteel

      Would you have any opinion on what you think I should do?
      - I have successfully installed USB Loader GX and DIOS MIOS (newest versions)
      - I installed D2x v8 wads (informed to do this by Itrain23, thanks)
      - Found a compatible USB HDD to change the main path to that directory
      - While in USB Loader GX i put in SSBM and MarioKart to install to the HDD, but when I launch the game (even with NMM off) i get stuck at the black screen.

      EDIT: I just watched a video of someone (here: TUTORIAL - Play GameCube Games on Your Wii From an External HardDrive - Part 2 - YouTube) launching a GameCube game from USB Loader and when he clicks start it prompts him to choose:
      - copy
      - Show SD
      - Launch from USB
      - Cancel

      I don't get these options, instead when I click on Start for the GameCube game it just gets me stuck at a black screen right away

      EDIT AGAIN: I must have been writing this while you wrote that reply to me, cwjakesteel, so i'll check out your reply now. Thanks.

      Hey BMann2! I get a black screen when I run Mario Kart Double Dash too. I don't know why because nearly every other game works for me. I think I need to turn DML NO DISC ON in the game settings. Remember to check your settings.

      Also, I was wondering why DIOS MIOS didn't detect my HDD the first few times. And in EASEUS when formatting, it defaults it to 64kb cluster size. After you format it, you have to reformat it AGAIN to 32kb cluster size (after it's already in FAT32). However, EASEUS can do this all at once.

      Double Dash ran for me just moments ago with all the default settings. I guess one thing that may have been overlooked... Do you have a disc in the Wii while you are trying to run it?

      Yea, I always keep my Super Smash Bros. Melee disc in. But even so, some games don't work, like Double Dash and Kirby's Air Ride.

      I know that both of these games work without discs from the compatibility list, so do you think removing the disc or changing the sic settings to "no" will fix it?

      @cwjakesteel
      I have just done everything you mentioned to
      - Installed IOS236 THEN using the D2X installer

      I then unplugged my USB HDD and re-formatted it (just in case to FAT32 cluster size of 32Kb), and i am now re-installing SSBM onto the HDD to see if it will launch.
      Will edit the post once it is done installing and i try it

      @Itrain23
      Yes I am making sure I have a disc in the wii while I have been trying to launch my GameCube games.

      Okay. While you do that, I'm going to try run Double Dash.

      Hey everyone, I got double dash to work! All I did was TAKE OUT THE DISC and set DML NO DISC to ON. (and ocarina to off just to make sure)

      And that was it!

      I think that Kirby Air Ride might be a bad rip. I will have to wait until my cousin brings it back to me to try again. (he's like 6)

      the batch program won't let me drag the iso in it for some reason. do you know how to fix this?

      @cwjakesteel

      Ok, after everything I did i still get stuck at the black screen.

      Installed IOS236, installed D2X v8 final, installed DIOS MIOS and re-installed SSBM onto my USB HDD, set DML NO DISC to ON and ocarina to OFF. Launch game and still goes directly to a black screen that I have to force shut down my wii to get out of it.

      At this point from everything I have been reading all over these forums I have absolutely no idea what I could have done wrong....

      When it asks you to drag the file it won't let you? I wish I could answer this now but I really have to go now.

      Create a shortcut to discEx.exe Add " -c" after the "directory" then drag the iso to the exe instead, that's the alternative method.
