I seem to also be having an issue getting Dios Mios to run. I just recently ran ModMII to ensure my already softmodded Wii had the latest updates. I own a WD 250GB USB Passport drive. It has only one partition, Fat32, and I have tested using a notepad file to make sure it is infact 32k cluster size. I have updated my USB LoaderGX to r1209. It lets me rip my GC Original discs with no issues. However when I go to play them (Remake Resident Evil and Super Smash Bros Melee) it just gives me a black screen (I have not yet seen the Dios Mios Splash screen). While I have not yet found anyone posting my exact harddrive model, I have found a few other passport drive users stating they have no issues. Further more, once I have installed Dios Mios using MMM v13.4 I find I am no longer able to load from the original retail discs (not just attemping to load from the HD). I originally tried Dios Mios v2.8, but have since tried a few of the previous v2.x versions and none will let me load from the retail discs. I have to install the cMIOS back to fix support.

Edit: (SysCheck v1.6.2 kept crashing, updated to v2.1 and now am able to list my SysCheck)

      Spoiler

      Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Developers, I appreciate your freeware, but can you please move your files off the host "uploaded.net" and maybe host them on "wiihacks"? Uploaded.net will only let you download a single file every 180 minutes wether the download completes or not; extremely frustrating when one goes and stuffs that up.

      thea1ien,
No DIOS MIOS splash screen, chances are high that your USB HDD isn't supported, try another USB HDD or USB flash drive.
Wad Manager 1.7 is recommended to install DM wad with IOS236.
If the drive partition table is GPT and not MBR it will not work with DIOS MIOS.
Google how to convert GPT into MBR if your drive partition table is GPT.
      http://www.sevenforu...k-mbr-disk.html
Convert GPT disk to MBR disk with free partition manager, Windows Disk Management and Diskpart command.

Crediar changed DM downloads to an external host, and I do not think anyone is allow to re-host it.

Well, I just checked. The drive is MBR. Of course that doesn't mean it's supported either. I did later mess with Devolution and it seems to work fine. I still wouldn't mind toying with Dios Mios however, if nothing else, to help provide feedback to the community. What I'm curious about however. Even if the drive was or wasn't compatible...with Dios Mios installed should I not be able to pop in the retail GC discs and play them? Because no matter which version I tried, it seemed to break that.
I'll reinstall 2.8 using Wad Manager 1.7 to see if that makes any difference.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong here. but every time I try and launch a gamecube game it keeps insisting on copying game to SD card. I followed the instructions for USB Loader gx.

Is it supposed to copy to SD card? If not can someone tell me what I did wrong or how to fix it?

I had that issue earlier. Make sure you have one of the newer beta version of USBLoaderGX such as r1209. If you get the latest available from the USB LoaderGX site it still only supports loading from SD card and not USB. Also make sure you installed DM (DiosMios) and not DML (DiosMios Lite). But I am willing to bet your version of USBLoaderGX is the issue.

How can I check the version of USBLoaderGX i have?

Links to the version of GX that will work with DM are in my signature.

What you found was the last official 3.0 release. Anything after that is beta, and developed by a different team.

Ok, well I retried installing DiosMios 2.8 using Wad Manager 1.7 with IOS236. Still I no longer am able to play retail GC discs after it's been installed. I tried both with and without the usb harddrive attached as well, to see if it might do anything.

That is a known side effect for some people. I'm not sure why some people seem to be able to and others cannot.

If you want to play retail game disks, you'll have to restore MIOS v10 (link to it is on page 1).

Hello, I cannot get it to stop tellling me to copy the game to the sd card.

I have two questions that if answered will help me out or at least give me peace of mind.

      1. If I installed DIOS MIOS 2.8 with WAD Manager 1.7 and it was successfully completed, does that mean it was installed correctly? I used IOS236 to install but not sure of the base number. Do I have to worry about this if it was successful installing the wad, as it pertains to my problem here?

      2. I used the MultiGame ISO Creator to extract games that I had made a multi-game ISO (back when my Wii laser still worked) out of years ago, then proceeded to use the DMToolBox to install them to my HDD. I didn't see anything about it in the first post. So I'm wondering if I should be good here.

You install the DM wad correct but it does not mean it will work and you install the games correct also.
      This is in the guide:
List of Loaders that work with DM 2.8:
      USB Loader GX: r1209
      WiiFlow: v4.1
      CFGLoader: cfg70MODr51
If DM 2.8 does not work with the latest usb loaders cause you have disc drive issues try DM 2.2 and put NODISC to on in the usb loader settings
Also try GX r1198, Added DML 2.2+ new NoDisc support. r1198:R1198_IOS222-249-250.7z if the latest usb loaders does not work with DM 2.2
update GX channel with USB Loader GX-UNEO_Forwarder_5_1_AHBPROT.wad and when you update GX app remove the CFG file in the GX app also.
For USB Loader GX, go into settings>custom paths, and change the path to USB1:/games
GC games only works if it's in (USB1) 1st partition of the HDD it will not work if it's in (USB2)
Verify your cluster size with the method in the guide also.

Thanks. The older revision of GX seemed to do the trick. I have a not so good habit of not reading every word to detail because I sometimes tend to assume things and that's exactly what I did here.

Anyhow, I can at least start the game Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour. However it is slow loading. For this I might as well just use my disc instead of USB. . And, either it froze or I just lost patience but it may have froze after playing the 2nd hole of stroke play because my TV said No Signal.

Either way, I mostly came back to give thanks and i'll have another read or two and try a couple of things before I perhaps ask another easily answered question.

DMToolBox is included in the same .zip file that DM/DML 2.8 came in.

So I just softmodded my wii and it runs perfectly for all the wii games I've installed, but not for any gamecube game that I've tried. I have dios mios 2.8 installed and I can get all of the games I;ve tried to run, but eventually my wii will just shut down, the timing for this ranges from almost immediately after starting to about 30 minutes in and I'm not sure how to fix it. I've been running games from the dios mios booter in hbc. Here is my syscheck any help would be greatly appreciated

Did you read the part in the guide about hard drives going into sleep mode? It sounds like that's the issue if it's the same time amount every try.

      Darargon,
have you try running GC games with the other USB Loaders?

List of Loaders that work with DM 2.8:
      USB Loader GX: r1209
      WiiFlow: v4.1
      CFGLoader: cfg70MODr51
Booter: None for DIOS MIOS past v2.2

and I agree with gamer89420 your USB HDD maybe going into sleep mode.
