add the folder to apps on your sd or hard drive then it will show up in the homebrew channel...

I tried to boot the games from this and from the hard drive but it refused to load apploader for the gamecube games

Can't understand why there isn't more comments on this thread or more information regarding the 'breakthrough' of apparent USB functionality for GC Games.

I tried this loader last night and was excited to see my games would display once i selected USB as the source but everytime i clicked on a game it would just stay on a black screen so i'd have to restart my Wii.

Can anyone let us know if they have got any games to play of USB HD??

Do the games need to be converted with a DiscEx like programme different from those used for SD source?

I guess is why because people don't have many GC games so most of them just put them onto sd card (on 32GB card you can put a lot of stuff, especially you can compress many games).
This 'breakthrough' will be more usable after implemented into any usb loader

Thanks for your reply Beerfield i agree, when GC games can be played off the same USB HD as where my Wii games are stored that truely will be a breakthrough!

I myself do have a 32gb SD card but being a game whore i have filled it so have to swap games round periodically, whilst its still awesome i can play all these games in USB loader GX (with cover flow it would indeed be class if i could take advantage of the extra space and play all my games (Wii/GC) from the one HD.

In response to you saying ppl dont have many GC games i must say as someone who missed out on the GameCube generation i'm very impressed at the amount of quality games on that system! Puts the Wii catalogue to shame (in my opinion

Anyway i'm sure it won't be long til we have full DML USB features integrated into all out favourite loaders!

      Peace!

Does this mean saving in Mr. Driller Drill Land will actually WORK? Holy dear goodness, I never thought I'd see the day.

Is NCAA Basketball 2k3 compatible with this? In DML, all 2k basketball games crash at the loading screen after the intro video.

Can someone Confirm that you can boot the games off USB. It isn't picking them up from my USB, but it is picking them up from my SD card.

Yes... It can ,but you have to have it set up to do so.
You have to have the Dios Mios 2.0.Wad installed.

Also your HDD needs to be set up like this....Fat32 and the cluster size has to be no more then 32kb's.

I can confirm that you can boot gamecube games off usb now using Dios Mios. It's really easy to get it working ^-^
      I'll say somethings you need
Fat32 Harddrive with 32kb clusters, also the folder where you have the gamecube games must be in the root of the USB, MUST BE NAMED games
so it can pick it up. Hopefully this helps [:

This works slick. Thanks to everyone involved. Now if we could get CFG USBLoader to stop transferring them to the SD....that would be all I could ever ask for. This has been moving fast so, I'm willing to wait a little while....

even if I load the games off USB, I will need space on my SD? I don't get it?!?!?!?!

Using the dios mios booter allows you to load straight from the sd or usb. You need dios mios 2.0 to load from usb.

ok, I kinda got it working, but messed up something!, it does list the game I put in the BOOTER, but when u hit (A) to start, just a black screen, also messed up loading from my original gamecube discs! just goes black! WTF did I do wrong?!?!? am I missing something? I just installed DIOS MIOS 2.0, and the booter thing!~

I followed this guide here, then installed 2.0. Bear in mind installing dios mios negates cmios so it stops your GC backups on DVD from working. It's still up in the air, some say they still work, some don't. This is still fairly new so there will be compatibility issues as well. I've had black screens on some games only to go back and find them working. The guide I linked has a compatibility list. Good luck.

Decided to edit this down to the important information.

For all who can't get Dios Mios Lite to work
Mine wouldn't work until I realized that when using the d2x cIOS installer, I only installed one to ios249. Try to make sure you install all of the appropriate cIOS slots with their corresponding bases. (I think I used this site http://gwht.wikidot.com/d2x)
For me that involved installation of slots 245-251 via d2x-v8-final, using IOS 58 (though IOS 236 is also used for this, if I remember correctly).

For all who can't get Dios Mios Booter r26 to recognize games on USB
After making sure that you're formatted correctly and that you have everything installed correctly, try a different revision of the booter. I reverted to r24 and it at least started to recognize my games. Still getting a black screen, but it's a start.
