• ModMii for Windows

    What is ModMii?

ModMii, formerly known as NUS Auto-Downloader, is able to download all the files needed to modify ANY Wii (4.3U/E/J/K and Below); it can generate custom guides based on your Wii's specifications, and save the files to your SD Card in their appropriate locations for easy offline softmodding.

Literally run the program once, let it download,
and you have all the files you need on your SD card to modify your Wii

    What can ModMii do?

    • It can download all the files necessary to Modify, Upgrade & Downgrade your Wii System Menu

    • Download individual IOS/cIOS files, cIOS & cMIOS installers, Official Wii Channels, System Menus, Multi Mod Manager, YAWMM, Dop-Mii, both versions of Bannerbomb, Hackmii Installer etc.

    • Install patched IOSs without an wifi connection on your Wii

    • This includes an easy to follow Custom guide to setting up a USB-Loader (including how to format/partition your external hard drive)

    • Install SNEEK, build SNEEK NAND dumps, and Batch Extract Wii Games for use with SNEEK+DI or UNEEK+DI

    • Customize Bootmii, Wad Manager and MMM start-up settings using ModMii
Configurators to create a custom config files

    • This is also capable of downloading 000000**.app files for Sneek and MyMenuify

    • Provides solutions for the upside-down homebrew channel and the HackMii installer No Vulnerable IOS problems

    • Advanced Custom Downloads Feature will allow you to easily patch and change the slot/version of IOSs/cIOSs (only use this feature if you know what you are doing!!)

    How to Use ModMii

    • Download and use the ModMii Installer

    1. Run the "ModMii.exe" (make sure your firewall or proxy is not blocking the program from accessing the internet)

    • Choose an activity from the list on the Main Menu to begin (see screenshot below for options). Note, a custom guide will only be generated when "ModMii Wizard (W)", "HackMii Solutions (H)" or "USB-Loader Setup (U)" are selected.

    How to mod your Wii

    • Run ModMii, from the Main Menu enter "W" to start the ModMii Wizard

    • When asked if your Wii is a virgin, you can answer yes "Y" even if your Wii is not a virgin in order to re-hack your Wii and update all your Wii's softmods. You should only answer no "N" if you know specifically what softmods need updating or if you only want to change your system menu version.

    • Answer the questions ModMii asks about your Wii, it's very simple, so I won't even go into the details, but here's a video tutorial made by Pepxl based on v4.0.1. Later versions work much in the same way, so its still a great tutorial even if you are using a newer version.

    • Wait until the program is done working, verify that all the files downloaded successfully, then (if you didn't change the drive letter to your SD card) locate the newly created folder called "COPY_TO_SD". Copy everything inside this folder to the root of your SD card (merge folders if it asks).

    • Now just follow the generated guide.

The anywii guide replaces damn near everthing from soup to nuts. And virgin is.... well... relative. Once you're not a virgin......

Haven't tried this yet, but I just bought the new Wii system (without the gamecube compatibility), does the modding work on this one aswell ? Hope it does, because I think its working on 4.3 (not sure).
From reading here, it seems like I dont need more than minimum capacity for the SD as it willl be used just for the modding files every time I need to use the mod, or is it just a 1 time boot thing, then I could use it for games ?

If it is, I better go return this 16GB SD

      Thanks in advance,

Edit: 1 more question, when I use HDD for wii games, can I also use it for other things ? or will the HDD be in some kinda special format ?

I have a grip of Disney movies I backed up on my kid's HDD along with the games. He's only 5 and knows where to go to launch the media player to watch his favorite flicks when he gets tired of playing, so while I'm a noob myself for all intents and purposes, I can tell you using your HDD for both games and flicks is easy to do. If you need help ripping your DVD's to your PC and then need instructions on how to transfer that to your HDD, I'm happy to help. I'm sure the big boys can direct you to a guide for this as well. Oh, and your 16GB card is way bigger than you need, the fellas even let me know my 4GB might have compatibility issues, it didn't but 2GB is ideal.

      ModMii v5.5.2 released

      5.5.2 Changelog
Made changes to how ModMii checks for and performs updates. ModMii v5.5.2 performs exactly the same as ModMii v5.5.1 except that it will be able to install future updates. Going forward, all versions of ModMii older than v5.5.2 will be updated to v5.5.2 before being able to update further (ie. v5.6.X when released).

      Hi,

Just tried to use the latest version and everything went fine right up to the point of downloading the required files. It doesn't download all the files needed. I have turned off all firwewalls and even double checked my host file just to be sure. Is there a problem with the links or is there a simple solution to this problem. First time user of this app, but not a first time modder.

      Thanks

I successfully followed the modmii instructions and everything on my wii is working perfectly. But it is not recognizing my external hard drive where I store my games. I formated it using the WBFS manager and successfully imported them to the hard drive via WBFS as well, but after plugging it in the right USB port on the back and selecting the USB loader from the wii menu, it already states "plugin USB device" at the top and even after selecting to continue, it eventually reverts back to the Wii Menu. Any Ideas? I've had it modded a long time ago and use the usb configurable loader and it always worked back then. Might the port be bad now?

      ModMii v6.0.2 released

Updated syscheck to v2.1.0.b17 and removed the beta syscheck download as the latest version should work for everyone. Some minor changes were made to ModMii's sysCheck Updater feature to better analyze the latest syscheck logs.
Updated all DarkWii System Menu Themes (CSMs and System Menu WADs) to v2 (updated iplsettings to 4.3, thanks diddy81!). The only noticable change is that 4.3E Emulated NANDs with themes installed for their first boot will now also be able to accept the EULA to use the Shopping channel and WiiConnect24 (other system menu version's never experienced the problem with v1 themes).
Updated the HackMii Installer video included in ModMii's custom guides. Thanks DeadlyFoez!
      Other Minor Changes.

I had the same issue, I resolved it by running madmii again (my external was empty, I recommend you move your games off before doing this...), choosing the option for usb-loader Setup (type U), when it asks formats I chose the one I wanted (1), then on the next screen I chose 1 as it recommended for Configurabe USB loader, then I chose USB on the next question, then this is the screen I believe some people are having issue and that I screwed up the first time. I had typed W: (the letter of my external hard drive), but it wants you to use W:\ (change to whatever letter your drive is) - you can confirm this my opening my computer/computer and dragging the drive itself into the blue window, it will show you the letter and allow you to press enter to confirm...

      Hopefully that was your issue!

      - Brett

So I can't edit my post, but the first line should have been: "I had the same issue, I resolved it by running MODMII again" (not madmii) - lol, oops.

      Please use the Edit function.

      ModMii v6.0.4 released

Updated md5 hash and sysCheck Updater recognition for v1.0 of the HackMii Installer. A big thanks goes out to Team Twiizers for this unexpected update.
settings.exe was updated to v1.1 by obcd (v1.0 by cwstjdenobs). setting.txt's built for an Emulated NAND of one region but based on a different region's serial number will now also be able to establish a wifi connection.
Added an option to change the setting.txt to ModMii's Emulated NAND Modifier. This will allow you to modify an Emulated NAND to be able to establish a wifi connection when running on a different real Wii.
Fixed bug that only occurred when running ModMii Skin on Windows XP and it would not wait for ModMii Classic to finish running before reporting the Download Log. Thanks to person66 for his revisions to ModMii's Launcher (aka shortcut-er).
Fixed bug where drag and drop support did not work when items were dragged into ModMii.bat and ModMiiSkin.bat. This bug did not apply when items were dragged onto ModMii.exe and ModMiiSkin.exe.
      Other Minor Changes.

      ModMii v5.0.6 released

      Changelog

d2x v8-final is now bundled with ModMii instead of v7-final.

Updated ModMii Skin Launcher (by person66). It now includes a 10ms sleep in order to maintain 0 CPU usage even on older computers. This issue was not present for most users, but person66 personally experienced the old ModMiiSkin.exe process using 20%-40% of his CPU.

Updated ModMii's Syscheck Updater to consider homebrew channel installations of v1.0.0 (in addition to v1.1.0) as up to date when running off of IOS58. This change is to compensate for the latest version of syscheck which incorrectly labels HBC v1.1.0 and v1.0.0.

Now when updating ModMii using ModMii Skin the ModMiiSkin process is killed in order to permit updates to ModMiiSkin.exe itself (if applicable).

Fixed bug where ModMii Skin would not operate properly if the drive settings ended with a forward slash or back slash.

Fixed bug where the back button on the SD Card Drive selection page sometimes crashed ModMii Skin.

      Other Minor Changes.
