• ModMii for Windows

    What is ModMii?

ModMii, formerly known as NUS Auto-Downloader, is able to download all the files needed to modify ANY Wii (4.3U/E/J/K and Below); it can generate custom guides based on your Wii's specifications, and save the files to your SD Card in their appropriate locations for easy offline softmodding.

Literally run the program once, let it download,
and you have all the files you need on your SD card to modify your Wii

    What can ModMii do?

    • It can download all the files necessary to Modify, Upgrade & Downgrade your Wii System Menu

    • Download individual IOS/cIOS files, cIOS & cMIOS installers, Official Wii Channels, System Menus, Multi Mod Manager, YAWMM, Dop-Mii, both versions of Bannerbomb, Hackmii Installer etc.

    • Install patched IOSs without an wifi connection on your Wii

    • This includes an easy to follow Custom guide to setting up a USB-Loader (including how to format/partition your external hard drive)

    • Install SNEEK, build SNEEK NAND dumps, and Batch Extract Wii Games for use with SNEEK+DI or UNEEK+DI

    • Customize Bootmii, Wad Manager and MMM start-up settings using ModMii
Configurators to create a custom config files

    • This is also capable of downloading 000000**.app files for Sneek and MyMenuify

    • Provides solutions for the upside-down homebrew channel and the HackMii installer No Vulnerable IOS problems

    • Advanced Custom Downloads Feature will allow you to easily patch and change the slot/version of IOSs/cIOSs (only use this feature if you know what you are doing!!)

    How to Use ModMii

    • Download and use the ModMii Installer

    1. Run the "ModMii.exe" (make sure your firewall or proxy is not blocking the program from accessing the internet)

    • Choose an activity from the list on the Main Menu to begin (see screenshot below for options). Note, a custom guide will only be generated when "ModMii Wizard (W)", "HackMii Solutions (H)" or "USB-Loader Setup (U)" are selected.

    How to mod your Wii

    • Run ModMii, from the Main Menu enter "W" to start the ModMii Wizard

    • When asked if your Wii is a virgin, you can answer yes "Y" even if your Wii is not a virgin in order to re-hack your Wii and update all your Wii's softmods. You should only answer no "N" if you know specifically what softmods need updating or if you only want to change your system menu version.

    • Answer the questions ModMii asks about your Wii, it's very simple, so I won't even go into the details, but here's a video tutorial made by Pepxl based on v4.0.1. Later versions work much in the same way, so its still a great tutorial even if you are using a newer version.

    • Wait until the program is done working, verify that all the files downloaded successfully, then (if you didn't change the drive letter to your SD card) locate the newly created folder called "COPY_TO_SD". Copy everything inside this folder to the root of your SD card (merge folders if it asks).

    • Now just follow the generated guide.

      5.2.0 Changelog
Added a DML rev selector and updated DML build process to support DML rev12+.
DML was also moved from Download Page 1 to Download Page 4.
I want to extend a big thank you to crediar for continuing to work on DML
and addressing the issues that DML was facing when running from bootmii IOS.
Your solution to install DML on the real NAND to slot 257 solved a lot of
problems and the scene thanks you. I also want to recognize WiiPower who
has become increasingly involved in the DML project.
Added an option to build DML with debug\logging mode enabled.
      Updated NeoGamma on ModMii's Download Page 2 from R9 beta50 to R9 beta56.
This version of NeoGamma is able to use DML to play gamecube game backups
from an SD Card without requiring NEEK or an emulated NAND.
Added support to build d2x cIOSs with base IOS60, IOS70 and IOS80.
ModMii's SD\USB Forwarder creator was updated from v11b to v11c.
ModMii's other forwarder channels were also updated to v11c.
      neek2o rev70+ now uses SNEEKInstallerv0.7a instead of SNEEKInstallerv0.6c.
Now when PC programs are downloaded with local save settings (or possibly Auto)
they will be saved to a Program Files folder wherever ModMii is saved instead
of always being saved to C:\ModMii\Program Files.
      Other minor changes.

Fisrt Timer here. Going to use XFlak-(Modmii) to softmod my Wii 4.3U. After going thru the wizard and installing on Wii is there anything else I need to know? How to play burned disk and make sure I don't update etc... I don't understand all of the lingo, but reading lots to learn. Just need to know what to stay away from. Also after getting HomeBrew channel, how does one use the Wii to play movies and other console games. Cheers!

Is your wii also very new and red/black. If so its likely you have the newer DVD drives that CANNOT read DVD-R discs, its not something that can be changed as its the actual drive that physically cannot and will NOT read DVD-R media, so you will have to accept that you will need to also buy a USB hard drive (£50 will get you a 320GB USB powered hard drive) and install software to play from USB only

You can change the drive to replace it with a new older drive, but will also mean taking your wii apart to replace it, and if you're really unlucky if might have the newer motherboards that have been altered so you cannot use older DVD drives

USB is quite easy to install, just a bit more reading and a bit more messing about. But it basically boils down to also installing 'configurable USB loader' and also converting the ISO images to a format the USB loader can read, which is using a free bit of software that does it all for you. I'm running an externally powered USB hard drive connected to the wii that so far is playing all games I've tried, including my custom guitar hero/rock band that used to refuse to play from USB

MODMii helpfully has all this explained in his guides, just also set it to download CFG USB Loader as well

Games load quicker which is one side effect of playing from USB, and also means no discs laying around cluttering the place up. a 320GB hard drive will easily store 80 games without much effort. It all depends how much data is on the game. Some are less than 500MB game size others like Guitar Hero/Rock Band are about 4GB

Also have a look at 'Maui Frog' guide, its very easy to follow and I have used both guides to mod our wii multiple times for testing various things anda lso includes a pretty much foolproof method to mod any wii, including the newer unmoddable 4.3 wii's

Its also 100% offline, meaning you don't need any internet connection to install the softmod method he uses, all the files are included and explained what you need and what to do with them

      http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html

The password is to download the files you need, its to stop people leeching his hard work, so you may need to register to download. But it takes 5 minutes and its free

Ok. I completed the Softmod using Letterbomb and have everything on my SD Card, but before I install it in my Wii, I just found out that there is an update to 5.2.1. Is there any way to install the update on my SD card before Modding my Wii...Or do I go ahead and Mod then try to update? If someone knows how to install the update prior to placing in Wii, please let me know or do I format card and start the process over again. Thanx

You'll get more support here if you use the anywii guide in my signature. Because this guide works so well, and has so many protections against bricking, we have placed it in the "recommended" section. Our community has much more experience with this guide than with ModMii. We report on it (in the Other Tutorials section) because it is Wii related, but there really isnt a whole lot of support for it here.

Haven't tried this yet, but I just bought the new Wii system (without the gamecube compatibility), does the modding work on this one aswell ? Hope it does, because I think its working on 4.3 (not sure).
From reading here, it seems like I dont need more than minimum capacity for the SD as it willl be used just for the modding files every time I need to use the mod, or is it just a 1 time boot thing, then I could use it for games ?

If it is, I better go return this 16GB SD

      Thanks in advance,

Edit: 1 more question, when I use HDD for wii games, can I also use it for other things ? or will the HDD be in some kinda special format ?

I have a grip of Disney movies I backed up on my kid's HDD along with the games. He's only 5 and knows where to go to launch the media player to watch his favorite flicks when he gets tired of playing, so while I'm a noob myself for all intents and purposes, I can tell you using your HDD for both games and flicks is easy to do. If you need help ripping your DVD's to your PC and then need instructions on how to transfer that to your HDD, I'm happy to help. I'm sure the big boys can direct you to a guide for this as well. Oh, and your 16GB card is way bigger than you need, the fellas even let me know my 4GB might have compatibility issues, it didn't but 2GB is ideal.

      ModMii v5.5.2 released

      5.5.2 Changelog
Made changes to how ModMii checks for and performs updates. ModMii v5.5.2 performs exactly the same as ModMii v5.5.1 except that it will be able to install future updates. Going forward, all versions of ModMii older than v5.5.2 will be updated to v5.5.2 before being able to update further (ie. v5.6.X when released).

      Hi,

Just tried to use the latest version and everything went fine right up to the point of downloading the required files. It doesn't download all the files needed. I have turned off all firwewalls and even double checked my host file just to be sure. Is there a problem with the links or is there a simple solution to this problem. First time user of this app, but not a first time modder.

      Thanks
