Update Wii Shop Channel to v20

So we need to download the file for Wii shop? It is not possible to just update it from Wii?

I'm using the online method at the moment, and version 21 isn't available. It says the most current version available is 20...

EDIT: I read around a bit more and it seems I have to use the Offline Method.

You need to uninstall the old one first the reinstall with what ever wad loader you are using

That is incorrect, the new channel will overwrite the old one.

Sounds like something didn't install correctly or you used the wrong region. Redo it.

when I install the shopping channel, it hangs up on content#94. What can I do?

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with my situtation. I installed Wii Shop Channel v21 through WiiMod and IOS 56 as well. Only after installing IOS 56 did I realize that I didn't need to install it since I'm using Darkcorp, as it said in the guide. Now, whenever I try to launch a game, it says, "An error has occurred, please eject the disc and turn off the power" or something like that. I believe I still have my NAND backup for my Wii but I can't find it. I no longer want to do anything else until I can get some help in fear of bricking my Wii. Is there anyway to reverse what I just did? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I fixed it by just reinstalling Darkcorp.

Should work from a USB drive just fine.

SD>Apps>Bootmii= extract
You need to install .Wad's on an old SD in the "Wad" file on the root, then into wii system files via WiiBootv3.2, then you can delete the .wad file.(pretty sure, someone correct me if you know for sure)

I was also confused about the wiiboot.rar containing both the boot .dol and .elf files.
Turns out these are the installers..and .ELF (Executable and Linking Format) and .Dol(Dolphin) are both used for compatibility reasons. (I dont know if we can safely delete these after wiiBoot is installed? Anyone want to try the trial and error method and let us know?)

BTW I have 4.3u and I just used any wii offline and it worked!

Hi, I tried to install it using the offline method, but I don't know how to do it. What is that an ios? How to install it? What is wad manager? How to install it? I put those files on my sd card but when I access the SD card in my Wii I only see neogamma mod and wii flow 252. I do not see these new programs. My Wii is 4.3E and I only have installed neogamma mod, homebrew channel and wii flow 252. Does this wad manager have to be installed with HBC? How? I saw a video on YT where a dude had programs installed in HBC, I didn't knew that. One was wad manager. Is Wii mod=HBC? Load Wii Mod v3.2 means open HBC? Where is "Load IOS"? What is source device and what wads have to be installed, the shop and the ios56? Please answer cause I am really confused.

If you're that new to the scene that you're asking questions like that, then you don't want to worry about your Wii Shop channel yet. You need an understanding of what you need to do and how to do it before doing anything else.

Post a message in the Introduce Yourself section first. You'll get replies with what you should be reading first to get an understanding of what you want to do and links to guides to show you how to do it.

It's a little off topic but I wasn't sure where else I could post this, I have a wii with loads of channels already installed LoveFilm, BBC Iplayer etc, Shopping Channel I've just soft modded it and it works fine and now am unsure if I can use these channels without bricking the wii?

Anything downloaded from Wii Shop is safe to use,as is play games off of disk. Modding doesn't take away those features of the system (with small difference when messing with Mios for GC, but easily worked around)

I seem to have gotten myself into a big mess because I forgot to delete the Wii Shop account before I did my region change (Region Change Any Wii to 4.1 Guide). I tried to follow the steps here for a region-changed Wii...opened up AnyRegion again and changed Shop channel back to US. But when I try to open the shop now it tells me that my country was US but is now Germany, then asks for Club Nintendo account, etc, and when I get through that it gives me "Error Code: 205958. An Error has occurred that cannot be resolved at this time."

Any way to get around this??
