Great looking guide!! I'm new to Wii modding but not console modding and read guides likes this one multiple times before attempting anything. I haven't started installing yet but I did note something in your "things you will need" section and realized that I have some early questions. I have softmodded using Mauifrogs guide and it appears that slots 245-249 are different bases from what you require. Here's how they are set up:

      IOS245- d2x7 final base 55
      IOS246- d2x7 final base 53
      IOS247- d2x7 final base 37
      IOS248- d2x7 final base 56
      IOS249- d2x7 final base 38

I see that you have posted a link to a guide that should help me but I'm a bit scared and confused and not really sure what to do next. As things are right now, everything I've backed up is working from the HDD using CFG loader, but I really want to use Wiiflow as I am running out of room and want to purchase more wiiware and vc games.

      thanks

If u have Mauifrog softmod u are fine to leave the cios as they are, that is how i have mine, the other way is what is recommended on the Wiiflow site but as I said the Mauifrog way works flawlessly for me on 4 other Wii's.

Thanks for this guide, ive been pulling my hair out trying to get covers working...

Although my will has my Wifi enabled its not downloading the covers correctly, so can I just grab them and upload them to the drive in the correct dir?

So....I followed your steps after reading your guide many times. Updated my mauifrog softmod to get newest cios. I have tried four wiiware games and only one will boot. Castlevania Rebirth, Gradius Rebirth, and Burn the Rope will not play. Both Castlevania and Gradius freeze at the konami logo and Burn the Rope gets to the 1st white screen then freezes. I figured there might have been some user error so I deleted everything and worked through your guide line by line again. Same result. Tried a third time......Same result. I have a 1TB WD HDD thats compatible and I've been using it with CFG Loader with no problems. Actually, This is the first time that something hasn't worked the first time for me in Wii land.

I really appreciate you taking the time to put this guide together and help all of us. Any help you could offer me regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks.

The only thing I could suggest is the source of the wiiware

I wouldn't have thought so if your wii games etc work fine. Try a little usb stick then that would rule it out

Also just try putting d2x 56 in slot 249 see if it helps

I'm sorry for my noobish question and appreciate your patience... I have followed mauifrogs guide and wondered what i have to do to put d2x 56 in 249. Also how would I revert back if my issues stay the same? I will have a flash drive tomorrow to test on and will report back. Thanks again.

is it easier to delete any wads i have installed previously as they are channels on the main menu and then follow the guide and re-add the wads through injecting them into the nand or can i skip the nand emulation and go straight onto installing wiiflow? any info will be great thank you in advance

i forgot to say im not that fussed about playing VC and Wiiware from wiiflow quite happy to leave them as channels if i can thanks again

Great guide. I followed it and have success! I really would rather use USB Loader gx as the GUI is what my daughter is used to. I have tried gx many ways with no luck. Does any1 have USB Loader gx running NAND emulation? I have searched and searched and have found nothing conclusive... anywhere. If you could give me the simple setup I would appreciate it. I have tried putting the nand folder in FAT32 or NTFS with no joy. Tried using one partiton and also two, seperating the nand from the apps. I can see my wbfs titles but not wad titles. I know that my nand is proper as emulation works fine in Wiiflow. I installed gx forwarder in priiloader. I have the correct D2x v7 files (I noticed that recommended Wiflow and gx D2x7 are not identical.. the bases are different). I probably am missing something easy...but am stuck.

If you could tell me folder locations to what partiton and any ini setting to edit. I did change the nand path (no brainer) in the ini.

      Thanks

FYI, I am not able to start a new thread at Wiihacks. Don't know why. As there is not a gx emulation guide or anything else related in the forums, I posted here. Sorry if it offended you.

This guide works perfectly with Wiiflow.

Just wanted to say thank you very much! I tried doing this with my already installed Wiiflow and had no luck, just wouldn't recognize the emulated nand, should have gone fresh from the start. It was easy enough to copy back over my themes and settings etc afterward.
