Thankyou for such an excellent update to the already fantastic WiiFlow, I have some advice for those having issues with newly added Wiiware not showing up, on first detecting your nand folder WiiFlow creates a list for the emulated nand in the cache folder, just delete it and a new one will be created the next time you use WiiFlow.

Additionally if you are having any black screen issues you may need to change the tv type in your Wii's screen settings. You can also try installing the game to your real nand first so that it can create a save file, works for some games.

Congrats on your ?....... And yes, if you want to use the nand emulation feature then you will totally need to follow this guide. It would be great if this guide could merge with the ANY guide though as an option or something.

Ill do my best. NAND emulation basicaly copies the functionality of the Wii functionality in that you can buy games from the Wii shopping channel and they install as channels. They install to something called a NAND (feel free to Google that). Wiiflow has the ability to emulate or mimic the functionality of the system NAND. Why would anyone want this? For one, there's a really really limited amount of space on the Wii NAND. Emulating it opens up the possibilities exponentially with large hard disc drives.

The installation of this reads very simply but if you decide to employ this functionality in your Wii (or the one you're working with) please read and re-read all you can prior to doing so. Familiarize yourself with the instructions and when you have questions, post them in the appropriate sections on this board. There are a TON of awesome people here who are really intelligent and kind. Good luck my friend! I wish you well

Question please; By following the ANY guide Wiiflow installs to the SD card by default. How does this affect this guide? I ask because for some reason I am unable to see any of my Wiiware/VC games on my emulated nand on my personal Wii. If there's a conflict with the ANY guides installation of Wiiflow to the SD card and this guides use of the USB drive, it would be super to know for sure.

Additionally, with regards to the ANY guide and this guide, you have provided a link to Red_gh0st's guide in which he is now using dx2 v7b1d IOS wads. Are these newer than the ANY guide? All these mods are in a state of constant flux so it's a little daunting to keep on top 24/7.

I am at a point now where I have followed this guide, twice, and recreated my nand, twice, and have the same result. When I try to access my nand emulation after watching your video I am getting a message that says "Welcome to Wiiflow. I have not found any games. Click install.....snip.... or Select partition to select your partition type."

I see INSTALL GAME SELECT PARTITION and the fish bowl. I've tried clicking the fish bowl with the "A" button as well as the "B" buttons on the wiimote but neither yields the results I am looking for. Can I get some assistance with this please? Thank you.

So, I think the problem is that Wiiflow doesn't recognize the emulated nand on my usb hdd. The next thing is to figure out why exactly!

The any wii guide installs d2x rev 7 which is what u want, if u have installed wiiflow to the sd card then delete the wiiflow folder completely from the sd card and follow this guide. I recommend that u operate your wii without the sd card in as a lot of programs will default to the sd card ie Wiiflow which will then render the wiiflow ini provided useless unless u want to mess about and edit the wiiflow ini.

ok now i have another ?......this wii here is for my baby sister,i doubt that she will be downloading anything from the wii channel....does she still need this done on her wii?

Some games like call of duty will need it to play online but that is about it, the wii will function normally with out it.

Hiya again Pob3008. Thank you for the clarification. This is really important information that's not really touched upon in this guide with regards to where Wiiflow installs in the ANY guide vs. where Wiiflow installs in this guide. Furthermore, I had never considered not using my sd card. Hmmmm. How do you think that would affect all that is... the ANY guide with regards to all the programs installed by default?

I did happen to try ejecting the sd card to see what would happen and Wiiflow still refused to acknowledge my nand folder on my usb hdd.

Another subject is the dx2 rev7. Since those that have used the ANY guide prior to using this guide have installed a fully functional version of dx2 rev7, then maybe you should make mention of this... to those of us who came here after installing the ANY guide and upon seeing "Thing You Will Need: #6" maybe you could add the caveat (applicable to those who have NOT recently softmodded using the ANY guide). For some reason I was under the impression that #6 was a mandate and spent some extra time following the second guide you had linked to on how to install those wad files.... lol. I feel foolish for doing so at this point but as long as nothing is hurt or destroyed, I am ok

Copy the contents of the apps folder over from the sd card to your USB device.

also it is only a recommended setup I actually use d2x rev 6, but if u notice in the guide I do refer to the d2x installation guide also.

Alrightee then, copied everything over to my usb hdd and booted my Wii with no sd card. Loaded hbc, pressed "1" and told hbc to use usb hdd instead of sd card. I then launched Wiiflow and get a message "No available usb partitions for data and no SD inserted! Exiting."

What I did next was to check all my physical connections and they're all spot on.

Next I figured that copying the contents of my sd card have overwritten what was on my usb drive so I recopied the .dol and .ini files from your guide and overwrote the existing ones in the apps/wiiflow directory.

Next I reloaded Wiiflow again and noticed that my cover view had changed back to the default so I tried to adjust it with the 1 and 2 buttons but that's broken now. I then followed the rest of your guide with regards to the fishbowl. Success! I can now see my emulated nand.

I would really like to have back my previous ability to adjust the cover views though.

      Cheers.

Regarding the forwarder channels section it would be awesome if you could add a bit to those who have installed the ANY mod. The ANY mod installs by default a Wiiflow forwarder that points to the sd card. This guide points to the USB device to load the program. As such, anyone who softmodded their Wii with the ANY guide has, by default, the wrong channel forwarder. I believe that the last sd card install for the ANY guide is without the Wiiflow forwarder wad and as such would need to be redownloaded yes? Or, would it be as simple as just deleting the ANY mod Wiiflow channel via the Wii menu?

The forwarder included in the ANY Wii guide is the FIX94v11forwarder. It supports FAT32 , NTFS and EXT2, EXT3 , EXT4 file systems , on both SD and USB. Source HERE.

How odd, after moving all the files from my SD card to my USB hdd the forwarder channel stopped working and gave me a message that there was no SD card inserted. lol. Maybe my ANY softmod is jacked up now. This is getting funnier by the day

In the apps/wiiflow folder open the wiiflow.ini file, find the line that says data_on_usb=no and change it to data_on_usb=yes . Optionally you can then change any references from sd to usb if you would like.

In a bit of a pickle here.

I setup wiiflow, made the nand with the VC game in it and put it on a fat32 USB device.
All the files and folders are on the usb device and in the right place.
I also checked the wiiflow.ini for the options and all where good.

When i go into the wiiflow menu and choose usb1 the games aren't showing up.
And all of the cases say wiiflow.

I have tried on usb and on sd card. same results.
