• [Guide] Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword introduces full motion control enabled by the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which synchronizes player movements with Link's actions while offering intuitive play control.
With the Wii MotionPlus accessory, every movement of Link's sword matches the player's motion with exact precision. If players motion left to right, Link swings from left to right. The precision play control is applied to enemies as well, as players must contemplate strategy when battling opponents that actively try to defend against attacks.

Note: If you followed the Softmod ANY Wii Guide you can already load the game with cIOS 248 or 250.

OK guys im tearing my hair out here!

I softmodded 3 ish years ago and not done much since (im a total noob and need things explaining in basic english lol). Im trying to get syward sword going and it just green screens then insta-resets.

I have tried neogamma with the disc and also usb config v70 from USB HDD.... on both the same thing happens.

im using an original bought disc by the way.

      Have i missed something crucial?

I was scared of putting priloader on as i was warned my wii could brick, is this likely? and is priloader the way forward?

      someone please help

I just got Skyward Sword original disc. However, my Wii was hardmodded 3 years ago. I have no idea how the modding works and how to update it to play Skyward Sword. I can't really follow along the IOS updating guide either. All I know is that my Wii is on version 3.4u hardmod and that I have an SD card. Can anyone help me out here?

As far as I know, I should download the IOS56 wad and put it on my SD card. Then put the SD card in the Wii's SD drive and load the boot.dol to select the IOS wad. Is this all I need to do? I'm just very uncertain, and I don't want to brick the Wii.

OK so I read the guide and I updated the neo gamma and the cios and it still does not work for me.

I bought the game legit and its a normal US copy of the game.
I have a soft modded wii still running 3.2u and with the stated above cios and neo gamma

what should I do to get this to work? I was thinking of updating the whole system again and doing another soft mod but I am not sure what the best way to do this is from 3.2u

or maybe there is another fix to play it on what I am on right now?
please show me some direction for this I just paid $70 and really want to play it but I cant.
should I just remove all the mods and update to OFW? if so and thats the only way how do I remove the soft mod to do that even though I would rather keep it modded for all my other backups.

NOTE: its a legit copy of the game so keep that in mind on how I have to load it.

thanks so much I would really appreciate some help I need to play LOL

Why not just rip the game again using a usb loader? Don't pirate...

Download priiloader from my Priiloader guide. Btw, you're problem looks like you don't have a cIOS or it's outdated.

It always gets to the heath warning screen and then just black screens without restarting the wii.The copy of the game works fine on dolphin so i have no problem of a bad copy so I'm a bit clueless as to why I have the issue. I've already played the game with the original DVD which works fine. Set up wise both loaders load recent games such as xenoblade for example without any issue so any help to this would be great seeing as how no one here seems to have this problem. Thx
      Hey again guys,
Here is my syscheck since I still can't get the game to go past the black screen. If anyone sees something odd just point it out to me please :/ also the only reason 249 is v7 was due to me testing if that cios was better.

Are you changing the IOS the game uses to load? If it still does not works, update your loader.

I've tried 249 with both version 6 and 7 and i've tried cios 250 that i have shown in the syscheck. When i used 249 it goes to the health warning before blacking out but with cios 250 it just goes black which is odd. I've tried the latest versions of cfg loader, usb loader gx, and wiiflow atm I'm just stumped :/

ps. I always use a forwarder could that be the issue for the game?
    1. Red_Gh0st's Avatar

Sometimes re-ripping the game from the disc solves issues. Try that, you may have gotten a bad rip the first time.
    1. Mingebag's Avatar
      Mingebag -
I'll get back to you on the re-rip progression but the orignal rip I'm using works on dolphin so i have no idea if that really is the issue. Also the set up I'm using is with a wiimote plus the extension.

Just curious, what will happen if I run the updates Nintendo requests on my softmodded wii system? Because I've downloaded priiloader and the recommended cIOS and I can't get it to work. I was trying to get to the System Hacks screen to disable the updates, but it never appeared. (It's actually a friend's Wii and I'm very mod-ignorant, so excuse me)

Good news Red_Gh0st i got the game working. I just tried a different usb device and it works there thx for the help any whoo! Maybe NTFS vs FAT32 was the issue.

Updating your Wii thru Nintendo update will erase your softmod. Follow my priiloader guide to properly install it.

OK... I'll try to be short... But I think my story is quite specific, and I am not THAT noob.... I'm a gifted noob let's say :-PI purchased LoZ:SS today, and as many of the users here, it's been a while I touched my Wii. I didn't care about softmodding anymore, so with all my intelligence, I restored the wii to its former state (you know, the first back up a softmodding guide asks you to do), as I thought doing this was "virginizing" the wii (a term I learned after realizing it's not what I had done at all). And then I upgraded the wii to 4.3. My wii's not bricked, it works. I start the game, it works. I get a black screen the moment I leave the first building we appear in (i.e. I leave Link's bedroom and then I open the double doors to go outside : black screen). I CANNOT pass this point. So I was wondering if that was the "brick" thing....Got Super Smash from a friend to softmod my 4.3. I followed step by step and successfully the guide Softmod ANY wii from Mauifrog. so now my wii states it's a 4.1u. I installed the cios 249[56]d2x v6.Before I softmodded: didn't work.Once I softmodded: doesn't work. with the original start up (from wii's menu) and from Neogamma. So, basically, every step-by-step guide, I followed them, and it didn't work. Right now I'm formatting a HD into fat32 to try wiiflow and usb loader gx. Will it work? Dunno.... will keep you up to date, I'll be able to tell tomorrow, if doing the image doesn't take too long.Help will be GREATLY appreaciated.... I'm really exasperated, first time ever I can't solve a problem....P.S. It's sooo annoying to test if it works, cuz every time, I gotta go through the intro which I cannot skip, loll... -_-'
