Call Of Duty : Modern Warfare 3 [Guide]

    Do not UPDATE your Wii.
    Update = SoftMod Gone

YOU CAN GET THIS GAME RUNNING BY USING A cIOS WITH A BASE ios of 57

Note - If you have used Mauifrog's guide to modify your lovely Wii then you should have already installed the correct configuration to run the game.

Select in your USB Loader - cIOS 250 (57)
    Or - Hermes cIOS 224 (57)

If you are not Soft Modded and would like to be then use Mauifrog's "Mod Any Wii Guide" Look -->
    Here.

If you are unsure if you have the correct cIOS then run a syscheck using this guide and check. (Thanks to Shift_Lock)

So this is what you are looking for in your syscheck

I don't have the correct cIOS--How do I install it?

Just wanted to clarify on my previous post about the corrupt files. There are two SaveGame Managers available for download on homebrew. I discovered that the newer version, (GX), did not work for me so the older version, I believe it is R7 something, worked perfectly. At least it's something worth knowing before you delete your "not" corrupted save file.

I found that if you save your corrupt files then put them on your pc, start a new saved game on mw3 the use gx to save to the sd then replace the folders 0,1,2,3 on your new save with your old ones form the corrupt file reinstall the save!. Done works every time ;-) and only takes 5 min

Could you explain this process again w/o all those typos! Please???

From your prior post it appears as thought the first step is to: download a savemanager from the available downloadable homebrew available on the homebrew channel then, I play the game's campaign mode and then it freezes... what do I do next?

Yes, the first thing you do is get the SaveManager from homebrew under utilities and load that and extract your savestate onto an SD card. Then move that to your computer and save that somewhere on your computer. Then go back to the Wii and delete the savestate from the Wii and then start a new profile. Once that saves go back to the SaveGame Manager and extract that save file like you did before and again take that to your PC and load that and move the "new" crash.dat file to the old "corrupt" crash.dat file and drag the old files to the SD card with the "new" crash.dat file. Put the SD card back into the Wii and and load SaveGame Manager again and install your old savestate. Works perfectly. However, you still need a MW3 save file for the SaveManager to save over so don't delete the one you made to get the fresh crash.dat file or it won't have anything to install over. Hope that helps.

Dude, above and beyond, YOU ROCK! Thank you for explaining everything so thoroughly! If I ever met you in person I'd buy you a drink! So, with present glass in hand, I say, "Cheers to you!".

It's hard to get, good, comprehensive instructions from regular peeps (not site admin) on these here forums so... as, I'm sure you're aware I hope others notice that you are quite exceptional.

Hey I put Neogamma r9 beta50 with CIOS 250 and the game loads perfectly. Althought I can't play special ops or Multiplayer. (When I try these I get black screen). My wii is 4.3e (PAL) and im trying to run a copy of MW3 NTSC. I hope the region isn't a problem, because If it is, is there a way to convert the ISO?

It HAS to be the game from your region. Sell that one and buy one from your region.

Oh god, I have the exact same problem. Except I'm using the correct region. I've read the first like 5 pages and nobody seems to have a solution.

Trying to play CoD: MW3 on Neogamma r9 Beta 50 (4.7GB DVD-R) with cIOS 250 (tried 249) on a 4.3u Wii. While the offline works, I can't play Multiplayer or Spec Ops. Whenever I click on them I immediately get a black screen, and it won't load. I've tried the IOS switcher (hence why I'm trying it with cIOS 250), I've tried updating the shop channel, I've tried pretty much everything. This is only a problem with Black Ops and MW3, since I play Goldeneye online all the time.

      Also; first post. Hello.

I wonder if both an updated IOS56 and Shop Channel could be needed....if anyone who is having this issue would care to post a syscheck (in a spoiler) maybe we can figure something out.

For everyone receiving black screens when attempting to run this online via DVD, I believe I have found a solution.

Here is what worked for me when running the game from DVD:

First: Make sure you are running Neogamma R9 Beta 47, *NOT* Beta 50. I believe that Beta 50 was giving me black screens when attempting to load online / multiplayer modes from DVD.

In d2x cIOS Installer v3.1 under Settings:

      Select cIOS <d2x v6>
      Select cIOS base <57>
      Select cIOS slot <250>
      Select cIOS revision <21>

      Install, and exit.

      In Neogamma IOS Switcher:

Select IOS 250. Hit A twice to save your selection, and exit to Homebrew Channel. (If you receive an error about a config file not being found when loading IOS Switcher: Load up Neogamma R9 Beta 47, go into Options, General Options, set Save Config to "Yes" and exit. Neogamma IOS Switcher should load fine now.)

From here, simply load Neogamma R9 Beta 47, select DVD, and run. MW3 should boot, and online / multiplayer should (hopefully) work.

Thanks for the tip about the loader but the rest of this is included in the guide..... I myself do not even use disc loading because usb kicks its ass......

Okay. If that worked for you, that's great. But I can confirm that Neogamma R9 b50 works fine.

Admittedly, When I made the Vid for post#1, I only tried campaign mode. But after reading numerous
posts that multiplayer and special ops wouldn't work(especially online) I decided to give it a go.

And wouldn't you know it, both special ops, and multiplayer(Online) worked no probs at all.
Don't know if my Wii is special or anything(Joke) and if people switch to R9 beta47, and that works,
then great. But R9 beta50 does work.

      Thanks for the informative info.

Admittedly, I haven't even looked at the guide, so I'm sure everything that I mentioned is already in it, except for using Neogamma Beta 47 in place of Beta 50. I should note that Beta 50 worked fine for me online (no black screens) while playing from USB, however attempting online multiplayer from DVD resulted in a black screen on Beta 50.

I know this seems crazy, just posting what worked for me.
