• Updating USB Loader GX from v1.x to v2.2

USB Loader GX v2.2 supports the new features of the latest d2x cIOS as well as Rodries MOD of the Hermes cIOS v5.1.

This guide is meant only to instruct those who wish to update their current version of GX v1.x to GX v2.2, or those who have had issues since updating to GX v2.2. If you have never installed USB Loader GX before, or you want to know about GX paths, settings, etc. have a look at Red_Gh0st’s {Guide} Preparing and Installing USB Loader GX

GX v2.2 and its forwarder channel require IOS58 and HBC 1.0.7+ in order to properly run. If you have a lower version of the HBC and/or it is not running on IOS58, read Part 1, otherwise skip to Part 2.

Part 1 - Installation of Homebrew Channel v1.0.8 running on IOS58

Part 2 – Installation of USB Loader GX v2.2 and forwarder

Part 3 (Optional) – Installation of d2x and Rodries MOD

Just remove the cfg forwarder wad from the mod pack. You can have more than 1 usb loader by the way. Some games run on 1 loader but not on another (not many but some)

Whenever I try to install forwarder channel it keeps saying installation not complete

Edit: solved it using a different cIos :-)

      Market:

I really don't get you... I liked it better when your posts "disappeared," LOL

Umm... ever thought of having the SD card in the Wii with the relevant folders/apps etc?

Ok so I followed all the steps here and it fixed my "Exception DSI Error", however now when I load USB Loader GX it says "USB Device Not Found!" and when I hit OK it restarts me back at the Wii Main Menu...

My USB device worked fine before so I know it is compatible... What do I need to do to get it to read it?!

What format is your drive in?

      Apparently pirate format.

Problem #1 first and foremost is that you are downloading games. Piracy is not supported on this site. If you would like help with backing up your legally purchased games we would be more than happy to help you. As it stands you are requesting assistance with a piracy related matter. Sorry.

I am sorry, I didnt mean that.

Im just trying to figure out how to get this to work again. I just need to know how to fix this. Am I still going to be able to get help here?

My drive has been tried in Fat 32, NFTS and WFBS. The only time it really recognized it was in WFBS, however it gave me an error message at the USB Loader interface saying it couldnt find it.

Like I said... I installed a bunch of IOS's which gave me the error. I downgraded using your tutorial, and now USB loader isnt recognizing my device that it used to.

Before when I was using the older version of USB Loader GX, I didnt have to run it off of my SD card. However, in the tutorial you said you need to delete the CONFIG folder.. I didnt have this. So I proceeded without it.

The only files I used to install USB loader were the .DOL and the Fowarder you gave. Is that all I needed? Or is it because my prior version of USB loader didnt load using SD card that im having this issue?

If you would like to play your legally backed up games from HDD you should follow the FAT32 guide HERE. Also, go ahead and create a "config" folder on the root of your SD card.

I am trying to play legally backed games. I will follow the tutorial and let you know of my success.

Also - do you think it has anything to do with me not having a CIOS installed?

You never would have been able to play backups in the first place if you didn't have cIOS. Read the first link I have in my sig about hacking a wii. It might help your understanding of this.

The FAT32 guide seems out of date with the software. There is no "delete" option, there isnt a "create" option either. I went ahead and formatted it to FAT32 from there but when I try loading it.. it still gives me the same issue. It just freezes when it says "initializing USB".

I even tried installed WiiFlow and it is freezing on the "Please Wait" screen.
