Nii a Mix between a NES and a Wii

This is a project that i have been working on for a few weeks now. My Wii had a disk read error and would not play any games. So i ordered a Drive online and it said it would be here in like 2 weeks so i had my wii all apart on my desk. Waiting for my drive i was working on my car when i saw my old NES that was on the shelf since i stopped working 5 years ago. sitting there i wanted to make a NES Wii so i set forth cutting the NES as clean from all of the stands and other mounts as i could.

then i took the wii and set it in and got it all situated. i got screws and put it to the bottom of the case. next i mounted the drive to the top the NES and had to cut the slot 2in lager to make room for the disks.

next i got plastic and made a cover to fill the holes in the face that was not needed.

last i bought a Wii AC power extender and a IR extender and mounted them to the back leaving the AV stuck out of the Side of the NES case after a little cutting on the wii i got the wii to fit. as you see in the pictures on the page the break down of it. I have the reset to eject disk and the power to start the wii the LED works also. If i where to sell this with a wii motion plus controller do you think i could get 700 for it? or what would you pay.

If its fully functional and looks like it was made that way, I'd say you could sell it for a decent price. You just gotta find that one person that thinks it's the coolest thing they've seen and they'll bust out their check book. But 700? That's a bit extreme don't you think? Have you found anything similar on the net that you could compare it to?

Used Wii's around here (pawn shops, Craigslist, etc) go for about $75-$125, but that's not modded and usually with only one controller, nothing else. Maybe someone that sells a lot of Wii's can come in and "appraise" it for you.....but I doubt anything near $700. Regardless still very cool....

yes it is fully working and runs like a charm. 700 might be a little high but then again i have only found 2 other people online that have moded there Wii into a NES so it is rare and i have to say very cool. i have about 200 in parts and controler and stuff. also this wii has been softmoded so you can play all the old NES games on it with an emulator witch makes it that much cooler since you can play the NES games on your "NES" and will look more authentic.

From the pictures I couldnt tell... Is there access to the ports? Like the USB/SD/ game cube controllers with out having to open up the NES?

I wish Photobucket wasn't blocked at work so I could see the actual unit. Only 2 people online that have done this huh? I know of at least two different step by step guides online to put a Wii in a Nintendo case so I don't think it's quite as rare as you think. And $700?!?!?!? You could buy a Wii, 360, and PS3 for $700. If I were to buy a Wii in a NES case I don't think I would go above $300 and that would only be only if the Wii was brand new, the Nintendo case was in immaculate condition, and there is a functioning SD Slot and GC ports mounted in an easily accessible area. But that's just me. You might get lucky and find someone with enough extra cash, doesn't have the technical know how to follow a guide to make their own, just plain doesn't want to make their own, or doesn't want to source the materials who is willing to pay you a ridiculous amount of money for it.

I would sell it as a 'Wii-Nii'. Thats just me. Just be sure to include the size of the unit in the ad.:D

Looks quite interesting. I've built the N64 in a LEGO building once for school. :)
