Semi-Bricked Wii?

Hello,

Am new to all of this and found how to do this via the letterbomb trick. I did as per their instructions to do it, but nothing was said about the bootmii so I think I didn't do that part. Anyways, when trying to instal the ios, i got the -1035 error, i believe that is what it was, not able to be at the console now. So when reading on here about it I saw about the AnyTitle Deleter to delete the IOS249 and retry to install it. But when running the AnyDeleter it says I may be semi bricked as the System Menu and SYSCONF regions differ. Sysmeno is 0 and Sysconf is 1. Can I just start at the beginning using the guide on here or will that totally mess this up. I did not do a nand or anything as nothing was mentioned in the guide I used.

So your wii still works, but ATD told you that you may be bricked? If your wii works, and you would like to correctly softmod it, then you should follow the softmod any wii guide. There is a link in my signature. I don't understand exactly what you were trying to do in the first place, but that guide will get your wii all set up.

Thank you for the information. What I was trying to do was to be able to put HDD onto and play the games from there, kids scratched up one disc already and it has issues running. So I thought this would be the best thing. But when the one said semi bricked, I quit there and turned to here to try to figure this out.

So from what I gather, I can go back to the begining of the guide (Softmod ANY Wii) and start from there with the Letterbomb way (As I have a 4.3u setup) I just follow that guide and I should be ok even though I ran it once already, have HBC on the screen.

I didn't want to run it again without doing the "proper" things shown in the guide on here and end up really wrecking this. I have some knowledge in doing this (rooted android phone, put modchip in my original PS) so I am pretty confident to do it I just don't want it to be a boat anchor with no way to recover it (via NAND)

You already have HBC installed so no need for letterbomb, follow the instruction for wii with homebrew channel installed.

Ok I did a search for "wii with homebrew channel installed" get 500 results, also looked in the 'List of guides by author' in your signature... I am not sure which particular one you are speaking of, unless I missed it, I have not found it. I appreciate the help in this, just wished I could be at the console now to be working on it, but have to work first, play later. Is there a certain particular link I need to look for other than what I searched for above?

he didnt mean search... In the any wii guide that you were lookin at there is a spoiler titled "softmods with homebrew installed" he meant for you to start there.

:stupid: DUH... I don't know why I didn't look there.. Been a long day.. Ok will start at that point. If the 2 account thing was directed my way, the 'Jeff Holcomb' one is thru the Facebook Connect thing and if it can be removed and the first post converted to this account, by all means do so.

Yes, it was. That is what I figured happened with the account. I am pretty sure the admins can merge the 2. I will notify them.
