Hello all and congrats on a great forum. I've been able to search out the answers to most of the issues I've had until this one so it was time to register. I got the new Blue Wii and softmoded it using the smash stack exploit. I have an annoying issue I would like to resolve by restoring a NAND backup. Problem is when in bootmii recovery it asks if you want to proceed KONAMI. How do I KONAMI without a GC controller being the Blue Wii has no GC ports??

You cannot do a nand restore with bootmii ios only bootmii boot2

Wrong, I have personally done a NAND restore on a wii with bootmii as an IOS with GC ports??

on your head be it - u use the power and reset buttons to navigate bootmii

Of course but you need up and down plus b & a buttons to KONAMI. So basically without bootmii as boot2 what is the point of taking a NAND backup if "in theory" you can't restore it?? There's gotta be a way. thanks again for the advice.

The reason u make a nand back up is beacuse its possible to flash the wii nand with it if u ever need to.

Thx Pob. I hear the process to flash the NAND is a bit ridiculous, soldering irons and all.

yes, but i suppose when this first came out the wii was probably a bit more expensive and so it was cheaper to flash the nand back to restore from a brick rather than buy a new wii

You could solder in the GC ports if you really wanted to.
Bootmii (and the HBC installer) need updating really, but I doubt there is much interest these days

I'll look into soldering the GC ports and report back with how it goes.
