partial brick, no NAND backup but can access priiloader/hbc

so i got this wii offa craigslist strictly to stream VIA netflix and load VIA usb. turned it on, it boots to wiiflow. grr. hit the home key and it boots to the homebrew channel (yay).

hit home key again, boot to sys menu. health and warning screen comes up, but the press A to continue does not. power off wii, power on while holding reset. no priiloader. crap. wiiflow comes up again, hit home key to boot to HBC.

followed mauifrog's guide for softmodding any wii. started from step 2 (since i couldnt get step 1 to work because i couldnt access the system menu) and finished the guide.

now getting a 'the system files are corrupted' message. can still access priiloader, hbc, etc etc. but sys menu will not load.

was able to boot MMM and install ios 58 and 61. loaded hackmii installer no problem, was able to install bootmii as boot2 and reinstalled the homebrew channel. am NOT able to make a NAND backup. screen goes black and freezes.

currently, am sitting on a fresh mod following mauifrog's softmod any wii guide. have completed ALL steps except making a nand backup. have tried switching my sys menu to 4.2 VIA modmii's wizard but no dice, same error message.

attempted to use this guide to fix since i still have access to priiloader:

however, when i get to the step to install ios 60, i choose SD (cant connect VIA wifi since i cant access sys menu) and it keeps repeating the option. if i choose USB, i get an error -1 that it cannot locate the file despite me copying it to USB:/wad and USB:/. the same for SD, i have copied the files to sd:\wad and sd:\ but i dont even get an error code, just prompted to select my source.

im at my wits end. i can still play backups VIA usb since i can load cfg usbloader from the homebrew channel. i can still watch and stream movies with wiimc. just cannot access the darn system menu!

Install this to a wbfs drive
Free File Sharing Made Simple - MediaFireoad the HBC, then load neogamma r9
Load the wii backup disc
Select the "Delete all" option
Let it do its thing
Restart your wii, the system menu should load

Now restart the wii into priiloader and reinstall HBC, and any other channels you like, usbloader, etc.

got it to download. there was an extra <br> tag on it. also, how long will this take? i've got no issues waiting, just curious in case an issue like this should ever arise again...

going on an hour now, flash drive activity light is still flashing. repair disc program keeps going dark when the controller desyncs (screen saver im assuming) and brightens back up when i restart the controller.

im guessing this is normal, since a crash wouldnt load a screen saver :P

Did you select the delete all feature? It should say it is doing something. It should not take more than a couple minutes.

sure did. once the disc loaded and the 1.3 recovery menu appeared, i selected 'delete all', pressed a. warning came up that LU10447xxx.all.rpk could not be found on sd card. press A twice to continue.

pressed A twice, sitting at 'please wait...' for more than an hour now.

im convinced theres something wrong, hardware wise, in this wii... idk though, this is a doozy!

well, since you stated that it should only take a few minutes, i went ahead (despite my gut saying otherwise) and rebooted it. no longer boots to HBC as i had it, went to the health/warning menu. hit A, went to a black screen (no corrupted sys files message, yay).

could not access priiloader anymore. groan. booted with SD card in slot, was able to get MMM loaded (yay). ran the hackmii installer, reinstalled HBC and bootii as boot2. finished out your guide(again), rebooted, still a black screen after the health/warning screen.

also reinstalled priiloader, so basically im back where i started, minus the error message(yay?)

one last question, is it possible to change/edit the wireless settings in the wii without using the system menu? i can live with my wii the way it is now, since it plays games n whatnot, but i REALLY love to play mariokart online and cant do that right now :(

now we're getting somewhere.

i deleted every save game (sans 2, metroid other m and DKC returns, i created those) that was in there, along with almost every channel that was installed. however, one title will not delete and when i try to delete it, the system locks up after about 30 seconds and i lose sync on my wiimote. title is called 'mario and yoshi'.

now, with that done, the system menu comes up for about 3 seconds then freezes and an annoying beep ensues until i reboot it. is there any other way to delete that one title?

region is correct also. USA - 49 and thats what its set too.

also downloaded the latest version of any title deleter and still could not get that title to delete. the error 'IFIS_open (ret= -106) also appears before it locks up

OK, load bootmii, make a new Nand backup, format the nand.bin with giantpune's nand.bin formater. Format it, install small 4.1u, restore it.

problem. bootmii refuses to load, black screen and freezes everytime i try and load it. (already attempted to make a nand backup)
