Black 4.3U Wii fully bricked after installing priiloader

My officemate's son Black 4.3U got fully bricked after installing priiloader. He told me he inserted the wii sports and it asked that it need to update the wii and he updated. After the update, he then install priiloader 7 using MMM. It got an error while installing and got black screened. Can I fix it using savemiifrii and disc swap?

    I'm thinking of doing
Savemiifrii + dvd drive that plays dvds + modchip (or dip patch) + Smash Stack PAL = fixed wii.
since I already have these and was able to fix a 003.

How about the new BLIND, can it fix this? He installed bootmii as IOS which I think is useless.

I was wondering why it asked for update when it is in 4.3?

It probably can only be fixed if he has boot2 bootmii or a nand backup to reprogram the nand. You can test savemiifrii, if savemiifrii is working you can fix it. Unfortunately savemiifrii probably is not working, failed priiloader install typically ends in full brick.

You can fix it with boot2 bootmii
You can fix it with nand progamming if you have a nand backup or the wii is very old
You can fix it if savemiifrii is working.

Nand programming will be my only way out then...
Why does failed priiloader install fully bricks?

I got several failed priiloader install (code dump or freezing) in MMM but I never experience a brick.

It probably bricked because he updated from Nintendo.

If it does not brick when code dump, great, but when it black screens after code dump it is very bad.

Consider the fact that you are relying on second hand information and have no idea what exactly happened. I agree with ChrisMan287 in that updating thru N started this whole chain of events. Had your friend followed maui's guide, he would have seen the huge red print that said never to update, and priiloader would have been installed from the beginning, so this wouldn't have happened in the first place.

Someone I know posted this in another forum last night, and I believe that it applies to this scenario 100%:
Every application out there that has even 0.01% risk of the most stupid idiots to brick, have strong and very clear warnings about it. So instead of chalking it up to be the fault of one application or another, chalk it up to the dude who bricked most of the time is just a jackass who is in too much of a hurry to read their tv screen.
Along with great knowledge comes great responsibility. I believe your officemate failed a bit...LOL
