Maybe you guys can help me unbrick my wii.

I was using 4.2U when my wii bricked.

So I can turn on the system with wii controller, and the wiimote works for wad manager and here is the status.

Also when looking at the MMM "System Info"

    System Menu v4.2 on IOS70
    Console Version- USA
    Video Standard- NTSC

I just can't figure out what to do next even after looking at ShadowSonic2's guide.

    1. What was the last thing you did before it died?
    2. Can you turn the wii on with the wiimote?
    3. Power on holding reset and see if priiloader comes up
    4. Power on again without any discs in and see if the dvd light flashes once, or twice quickly (bootmii as boot2)

    1. Umm I was using the internet channel, then I left it on for a while then I turned it off and when I tried to turn it back on it wouldn't load internet channel but other channels fine, then I deleted the internet channel data and channel from wii to try to redownload it but then the wii accidentally turned off in the process.

    2. yes.

    3. Nope nothing comes up only a black screen.

    4. It flashes twice very quickly.

You mentioned trying a guide by shadowsonic2 but didn't mention which one. If you have bootmii installed as boot2 (the 2 quick flashes of the dvd light) this might help:

What system menu were you on when this all happened and which guide did you use to softmod?

Yeah that guide didn't help unless I overlooked something. I was on 4.2U and its been years so i totally forget which guide I used.

When you try that guide can you at least get to the screen with the 4 icons? If so then you have bootmii as boot2 for sure and you wii can definitely be saved. Did you make a nand backup at anytime and have it somewhere?

Yes I can get boot mii loaded but the system menu and homebrew lead to black screens.
I remember I did make a nand years ago buu its probably very outdated and probably lost it.

Shadow's guide does not have a 4.2 sm fix in it, maybe he can update that. I see that you did post something in the thread. I will try to get his attention for you.

Got an idea. Mods please let us know if this would work! Since SS2's guide stopped at 4.1u, would it stand to reason that following it and inserting the IOS70patched and System Menu v481 wads into the wad folder would work?

EDIT: Sorry skell I just saw you posted..lol. I was searching for the right system menu version, found it, and you beat me to it.
