Will give that a try.... So if I download the system menu wad from NUSdownloader for 4.2u which I originally did (caused the brick) which IOS do I use to install? Previously I changed from installing through the default IOS to IOS36.... This was disastrous lol When I attempted to install via the default before the brick... I think it wanted me to use IOS126... Not sure though whatever was set as the default IOS to install through simply hung...

you should be able to use the default...

you need IOS70 (system menu ios)
    and
    the system menu .wad

also if you want to use a better program you can alter the .iso of the backup disc with the MMM files... so you can use mmm instead of wadmanager... .but if you got the disk all ready then just use that...

make sure you load the IOS first then the sys menu!!!

Ok this is where I get confused which probably caused my brick. Currently I only have the wad for the system menu.... You're saying I need to install two different things and IOS and wad.... I thought I could only install WADs via WAD manager? Before I can install anything via wad manager I have to select a IOS to install through. My current understand is I select IOS70, then install the system menu wad.

    Nope! (lol)

    --------------

You need to leave the IOS that wadmanager defaults to and load IOS 70 and then the system menu .wad... as 4.2 uses IOS70 to run

    For IOS70 do I want:

    Latest Version
    V6687
    V6912

I'm assuming I need to pack it as a wad as I'm using wad manager....

Should I patch for Trucha bug
    ES_Identify
    NAND permissions

Didn't know NUSD can do that. Just pack as WAD and download. There are no shinanigans from Ninti, just a fresh IOS.
