    You can not check for softmods on a full brick without dumping the nand with a nand programmer and having the keys. The only way Nintendo could detect anything on a full brick would be to flash a bootmii like ios into boot2, one with an official signature. Nintendo checks wiis for homebrew by using a check disc that is loaded from the recovery menu, that does not work on a full brick.     Can you still get to the priloader menu by holding reset while powering on? If you can you can try reinstalling the system menu for your region.

    Yes they will help provided you pay the charges for repair and shipping.

    I got my wii repaired / NAND flashing done from Bad_Ad84.
