Ca Stock Wii...no video or sound after opening up the game in the Disc Channel

    Hello everyone.

    Here's my situation.

I've got a RVL-001, classic white Wii with 4.3u on it.

This Wii is stock, nothing else on it.

My problem is this; once I put a game in the disc channel and it acknowledges the game I go to play the game and then it's a black screen w/o sound.

Does anyone know or have had experience with this issue?

    Thanks!!

Sounds as though you are describing an unmodded Wii trying to play a backup game disc. Is that the situation?

    Ca No Video

Hi there and thanks a lot for replying to my post.

I wasn't attempting to play a backup actually it is an original copy of Lego Indiana Jones.

    Any other ideas?

Yes it is. I've played this game on another Wii prior to this situation.

Do you have more than one original/retail game? If so, have you tried it? What I'm getting at is does this Wii black screen for all original/retail discs or just this one?

    @nightstah

Yes I did try Wii Play and the same result happened.

Here is a detail that I didn't share. When the screen goes black the controller is no longer on / synched with the console.

    Thoughts?

Are you getting any type of error message on the black screen?

What happens when you go to a different channel like the Mii channel? Enter the Mii channel and wait about 30-60 seconds, let us know if you get an error message.

The moment I press the play button on the Mii channel the Wii restarts.

Are you positive the Wii isn't/wasn't modded? Usually you will get an error when entering a channel if you have a broken disc drive. If the wii automatically resets when entering a channel it sounds like you have the Dop-IOS bug (your wii would have to be modded for this).

Try entering the system menu in maintenance mode by pressing and holding the + - keys on the wiimote at the health warning screen. Keep holding those buttons until the system menu appears and you see a messages saying you're in maintenance mode. Try entering a channel or inserting a game and see if you still have the same issues.
