Unbricking with non fuctional DVD drive?

I recently sent my Wii to Nintendo because the DVD drive was broken. I had previously soft modded it so I reformatted via system menu before sending it back. They told me that they bricked my Wii as a result of having modded it. Asked for it back, they agreed, now have a bricked Wii with a non functional DVD drive. I believe I have a NAND backup made by BootMii, still looking for that SD card. Is there any hope for me?

What is the wii doing? Nothing? Does bootmii, priiloader, or savemiifrii work?

    Apologies

Got the Wii hooked up and its not bricked like Nintendo said they did. I guess Nin lied or was mistaken. DVD drive still doesn't work properly, is there a forum I can post in that may help me with that?

    Sorry for the goose chase.

DVD drive doesn't work properly can mean a lot of things. What is the issue exactly? The better you explain your problem the better help you will receive.

I used my Super Smash Brothers Brawl as it is clean and scratch free, ( game disc works on other Wii )

I insert disk, it shows in Disc Channel
I then press the start button in the Disc Chanel
"Now Loading..." appears on screen then it gets to the "Create a new save file for Super Smash Bros, Brawl?" I try both No and Yes, drive reads but is making a lot more noise then usual at this point. Then this error pops up every time no matter which disk I use.

    An error has occurred.
Press the Eject Button, remove the Game Disc,
and turn the power off. Please read the Wii
    Operations Manual for more information.

Did you try another game, such as a non dual layer one? your disk drive may be getting old, prohibiting it from reading dual layer disk.

    Yes Ive tried different discs

Rubix's Challenge, Wii Fit, and Wii Fit Plus. I think those are single layer.

It sounds like you have something either stuck in the drive or possibly the plastic top disc spindle (which holds the disc in place) broke off. You will need to disassemble your Wii and take a look inside the disc drive at this point.
