You are editing and posting too fast for me lol.

If you create a new nand with ohneswanzenegger you will lose your current saves/VC/etc

I would suggest doing a backup of your nand now, so you can always get everything back before continuing.

You can then run that nand through nandbincheck - http://gbatemp.net/t279742-nandbincheck

I'm not sure how ohneswanzenegger works, but I know it requires you to dump your nand onto an SD card and edits it from there. It's not exactly a new nand.

It uses the existing dump for the bad block map, it then formats it and installings system menu/ios's

    its a new nand.

In terms of losing Virtual Console games and such...I have all the stuff stored on an SD card. Would my Wii still have the same ID or whatever to run those games?

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure - that is something I have never tried, nor really cared about. 99% of the Wiis I repair are ebay ones that Im just repairing and selling - no need to save the data.

You could just test it, worst case you can always write your "now" nand.bin back afterwards if it doesnt.

True. Regardless, I'd like to avoid trying this method. If you or anyone else have any possible solutions, that'd be great.

You can use showmiiwads to extract your vc/wiiware/saves from your current nand.bin, then just reinstall them when your done with the nand.bin format.
I believe you can also use wii-mod to backup/restore your saves/wiiware/vc.

Flashing your nand will work (but I wouldnt do it unless you have bootmii as boot2), but its the last resort.

it sounds like you have a mailbox brick.
    My post is not useless!!!
By flashing your nand you can fix any bricks!
    Why does you dislike\hate me?

I backed up my old nand and put a formatted one on my Wii and can say that it does work, so your post certainly isn't useless. I put my old nand back on because I still have to find a way to transfer all my old saves onto the new nand.
