Wii Semi Bricked PLEASE HELP!

Hello all. I have been looking through this site for the past 2 weeks trying to figure out a way to fix my wii. I tried following messie's guide and others but no luck.

Here's my problem:

I have a wii serial LU30, one of the first wiis. It is modded with a wiikey. And apparently when i try to access my settings it gives an opera error. Also, my date got messed up, now it shows 24/03 in stead 03/24 so i think it got region changed or something. And I don't have an SD Icon by the Wii Icon. It used to play all my burned games perfectly but now for some reason it takes 5-7 tries for a game to work. Recently I bought the original copy of Metroid: Other M to play but it doesn't even recognize the disc.

So what I'm thinking is that maybe if can get the semi-bricked part fixed, the rest will be fixed as well.

what firmware version are you on?

If you're talking about the firmware for the wii its from the 3.0-4.0 range I think since there's no sd icon , but if you're talking about the wiikey firmware it's the 1.9s firmware.

BTW what is nand formating of the sd? I just formated it regularly through my pc. Like I do with all my sd cards.

umm never heard of nand formatting the sd..

But DONT DO ANYTHING TO YOUR NAND except back it up.. lol. have you tried removing the chip and seeing how the wii works?

Finally got it working!!!! It's firmware 4.1U, is there a safe way to update to 4.3?

what did you do? and there is no reason to update to 4.3.. at all...

well apparently i had to download the C file of bannerbomb for 4.1, then i did all the steps and bam back to usa region.

ONE IMPORTANT NOTE THOUGH!
Its still not playing the original copy of Metroid Other M...why is that??

did it ask you for an update? if so make sure priiloader is set to block disc and internet updates then it is safe to click accept. also here is a guide for back ups for it..

Im not really sure why the original wont work. do the other originals you have work?
