    Post Banner Brick, Installed a bad .csm theme

    So, two days ago, I was learning how to convert and install themes on my wii. I downloaded some files from WADder.net and searched for .mym files to convert. Then I converted two or three themes from 4.2U version to 4.3U, and they worked like a charm. After that i did converted another theme, and installed it, and after that my wii couldn't return to the system menu. When I turn it on the only thing I can see is the health and safety screen, and if I press A the screen will go black. I have read diferent cases of brick and found out that this is a banner brick. Can somebody help me?

    Do you have Bootmii installed as Boot2 or Priiloader?

    I think I have BootMii instaled as IOS, but no preloader.

    It's not very wise to mess with themes without Bootmii/Boot2 or at the very least Priiloader........

    Since you are on 4.3 you have no choice but to get a modchip and use a custom disk to launch MMM or similar. If you have a newer Wii then you will also have to get a DVD drive that can load DVD-Rs.

    What guide did you use to softmod? If you used the Softmod any Wii guide or have cioscorp/darkcorp you don't need to get a modchip but do need a drive capable of reading backups.

    I already hae a DVD drive to read pirate DVDs, and I really need to get the modchip? does the modchip have to be configured to autoboot or something?

    I took my wii to get it softmodded for me since in the first place I didn't know that 4.3 wiis have to read backups from a external dvd drive, and the only guide i used wad the one for installing hermes's cIOS in order to install channels.

    You chose a very poor choice of words here. This site doesn't support piracy.......

    And to answer your question, yes you will need a modchip if you don't have cIOSCORP/DARKCORP or you didn't follow the Softmod Any Wii guide as Streamlinehd has said.
