The system files are corrupted, please refer to the Wii Operations Manual for help.
Hello Wiihacks.com community. Let me first send out a big thanks for the wealth of Wii hacking knowledge found on this site. Since first hacking my Wii about a year ago I have successfully hacked 5 more belonging to friends and family. Everyone thinks I'm some kind of wizard, but I always made sure to give credit to those who have wonderfully documented the "how to" and tell them that I just followed someone's directions.
Having said that I find myself the owner of a problem that I cannot find a solution for. I have encountered the dreaded "The system files are corrupted , please refer to the Wii Operations Manual for help." error message. This randomly appeared one day a couple of months ago and I've been searching high and low for a reason why and a solution, but to no avail. I have made no changes or updates to my Wii in any way since hacking it back in January of 2009. It's been so long that I cannot recall what all I have installed but I can tell you that I had the Homebrew Channel (of course), USB Loader GX, Bootmii, Priiloader and a host of iso's of which I don't have the foggiest idea of which ones for sure.
One day the Wii was functioning fine and the next it didn't. It will boot up to the screen where I have to press "A" to continue. When I do I get the error message. I tried holding in reset as I power on to boot into the priiloader menu but this also does not work. I've tried a host of other suggested fixes found in this forum and in others but nothing works and I am at my whit's end. I've read accounts of other homebrewed Wii consoles with this error message being sent back to Nintendo for a free replacement but I'm still hesitant about doing that.
Is there a way to just wipe everything clean and begin anew?
I'll do my best to answer all question to the best of my ability and I am indebted to anyone who can help me with this. :D
