Hello Wiihacks.com community. Let me first send out a big thanks for the wealth of Wii hacking knowledge found on this site. Since first hacking my Wii about a year ago I have successfully hacked 5 more belonging to friends and family. Everyone thinks I'm some kind of wizard, but I always made sure to give credit to those who have wonderfully documented the "how to" and tell them that I just followed someone's directions.

Having said that I find myself the owner of a problem that I cannot find a solution for. I have encountered the dreaded "The system files are corrupted , please refer to the Wii Operations Manual for help." error message. This randomly appeared one day a couple of months ago and I've been searching high and low for a reason why and a solution, but to no avail. I have made no changes or updates to my Wii in any way since hacking it back in January of 2009. It's been so long that I cannot recall what all I have installed but I can tell you that I had the Homebrew Channel (of course), USB Loader GX, Bootmii, Priiloader and a host of iso's of which I don't have the foggiest idea of which ones for sure.

One day the Wii was functioning fine and the next it didn't. It will boot up to the screen where I have to press "A" to continue. When I do I get the error message. I tried holding in reset as I power on to boot into the priiloader menu but this also does not work. I've tried a host of other suggested fixes found in this forum and in others but nothing works and I am at my whit's end.:confused: I've read accounts of other homebrewed Wii consoles with this error message being sent back to Nintendo for a free replacement but I'm still hesitant about doing that.

Is there a way to just wipe everything clean and begin anew?

I'll do my best to answer all question to the best of my ability and I am indebted to anyone who can help me with this. :D

Try loading priloader maybe use your system backup files (hold reset when powering on your wii)....not sure on this one try Savemii...i just checked out savemii for the first time....trying to get some know how my self....

Netflix will cause this problem if you have it. Delete the save files for it and start it over again.

Holding + and - then pressing "A" has no affect. I can't get into the priloader either.

Is there a surefire way to load the priloader. Holding reset as you power on doesn't work for me.

All I can access is the screen asking me to press "A" and no matter what I press all I get is the error message.

Is there any way to revert back to an earlier state using the NAND backup file that I made in the beginning?:032:

Did you install bootmii as boot2? When you first power on the drive light will flash twice confirming bootmii is installed as boot2. You can reinstall your nand if its boot2, NOT IOS. There is a bricked section which you would probably get a better response, I don't know much about bricks.

BRICKED Wii Issues ONLY

Thanks mrkazador. I have no idea where the BootMii is installed. When I turn it on the drive comes on for an instant as I press the button and then goes off for about a second. It then flickers what appears to be twice real fast but it's hard to tell for sure. If I do have BootMii installed as boot2 then how do I reinstall my NAND backup?

I'll check in the Bricked Wii section to see if I can find anything on that. Thanks!

You need the bootmii folder in the root of an sd card. Insert card then power on wii, it will load to bootmii if installed as boot2.

If you have bootmii as boot2 put the bootmii folder on your sd card and bootmii will pop up when you power up. Try this.
