Well it most Deffinatly sounds like your drive went bad! But as i found out Yesterday there are more reasons to a non-functioning wii until you get down to the MOBO and start fresh!!!

    Options from here:
    1. Have a NAND Programmer / Person with the Tools take apart your wii and diagnose the prob and replace any parts that need to be
(ME - Krafter - Streamlinehd) (bad_ad = but he is over the pond, and would be alot to ship to him)
    2. DIY -- Ebay some triwing and small screwdrivers and take the wii apart your self and try to swap a drive
    3. Sell the wii for parts and buy a new one (leave this to the last possible one, because that is the most $$$$ out)

I'd not worry about the drive first thing, but rather the no video/blue screen first. How was the Wii connected --- composite/component? Did you try hooking up the alternative to whichever way it is now (the A/V does go bad on some Wiis; in such a case it takes out the composite but leaves the component intact).

I'd not worry about the drive first thing,
Normally i would say that also night, but the wii i had yesterday refused to boot, becasue dumb me did not sit the cable correctly which can also be caused by a failed drive!!! Not saying that you are not correct but, like i said before its always good to start fresh with nothing but the MOBO!!!

But as i have heard from many now the the AV does go bad!! So always a good idea if you can to check other cables....

Yeah, OP please bear (bare?) in mind, I'm not a fix-it guy so my advice is likely less to consider than Emuhack's. I am a fixer-upper, but not of Wii hardware (although, apparently I'll be replacing an eject switch sometime soon on a boot2 Wii coming my way).

Well it's a good thing you aren't the one working on kit-kat's Wii.

I just had this happen to me as well. Mine should be arriving at Nintendo today. Fingers crossed!

Hmmm... thought to self: suggest to the gang a GAG option equivalent to Reading Room but without the stigma of infraction. Yeah, that's an idea... LOL

Are you saying you had no AV before the drive light went solid?

    I.e

    • No AV
    • Messed around with Wii
    • Drive wont eject and now solid blue LED

    ??
