Wii system menu freeze and annoying buzzing

so i recently fixed my banner bomb by uninstalling some wii channels but now when i get access to the wii system menu it freezes and it has this annoying buzzing sound. i dont know how to fix this but my next step is to use this guide

    http://www.wiihacks.com/bricked-wii-...-your-wii.html

is this a wise idea even though i cant access my wii system home menu? i have boot2 and homebrew and preloader. should i go ahead and try reinstalling the nand?

oh yeah i tried installing 4.3u through mmm and then i installed 4.1u back and still get the same problem on both. (brief wii history used sofmod guide for 4.3u then i got banner brick, downgraded to 4.1 and fixed banner brick but now i got this freeze problem)

Try pressing and holding the + - buttons at the health warning screen and see if you still get the freezing and buzzing when entering the system menu.

If that works you have a mailbrick and will need to download mailbox_brick_fix-det1re.zip
Instructions for the fix are included in the pack.

yeah i held down plus and minus and it let me enter the wii and i could even access the settings, but so far the steps i followed didnt fix the problem? perhaps i should update the files through one of the steps?

I had a console with this exact issue. I tried reinstalling the system menu, de1re mailbrick fix, reformatting from system menu settings and all of the above failed. I'm not sure what type of corruption it was but I ended up fixing it with the 4.1 NAND formatter.

Since you have boot2 Bootmii and a NAND backup you can try reinstalling your NAND and see if that fixes the issue.

BTW: Reading your first post over again this statement concerns me a little.

(brief wii history used sofmod guide for 4.3u then i got banner brick, downgraded to 4.1 and fixed banner brick but now i got this freeze problem)
Downgrading from 4.3 to 4.1 won't fix a banner brick. The only way to fix a banner brick is to uninstall the channel that caused it.

sorry should have been more clear, i did softmod at 4.3u, downgraded, noticed i had banner brick, uninstalled a few channels at 4.1u -which is how i fixed banner brick. then i tried the plus minus thing, got into the system menu, did the steps for the mail brick, but that didnt fix the problem.

Did you try doing a NAND restore?
