Can you make a savemiifree? If you can then do that and boot the Wii without disc in drive or memory cards plugged in.

Sounds like possibly bad wifi module. Bad drive would probably allow it to boot but give an error after launching official channels -- though it has happened to me, it's rare and I'm not entirely convinced of it yet. Best way to tell though is to use savemii.

Make absolutely sure that the wiimote does power on the console right now, while it is black screening. If it does then cannot be bad bluetooth module.

Let see: we don't know what softmodding guide he used, what cIOS, what else he may have installed, etc. While it's true he says this happened upon loading with USB Loader GX, that in and of itself doesn't automatically make it the culprit.

I mean USB loading in general, not just GX. I was just stating how this isn't the only case of a brick + usb loading I've heard of.

Fair enough, thanks. I was getting confused with you as it appeared you were walking both sides of a fence, LOL.

No need for multiple posts. Use the edit button.

If you're doing it correctly and nothing shows up when booting it's the wifi module. They don't go out often but it does happen. Could also just be loose -- that happens more often than them going out.

    -------

Addendum after reading the the thread more closely -- all I've said is also assuming you have done nothing to corrupt the system files yourself through softmodding.

COULD be, there have be many bricks in here recently after using USB Loader GX which isnt Wifi module related - It was system menu corruption.

Yeah that's why the addendum was made. Too many factors without seeing the brick occur.

Still though, before sending it off to someone for possible flashing, if it comes to that, I think taking it apart (carefully) and checking the wifi module connection is harmless enough and worth the shot in case it stuck topside on the shell casing or otherwise came loose.
