Unhappy HELP!!! FULL BRICK using mymenu???

    hi,
i've been given my friends wii to try and fix after he stupidly, removed priloader and updated homebrew channel.

this wii was on 4.1e with darkcorp installed, neogamma and a few other channels,

bootmi was installed as boot ios

its been moded for along time, probably about 3yrs or more

he was trying to play sims 3 but it wanted an update, even tho priloader was installed and hack for blocking disc update was enabled

problem is he then went into mymenu, to install a custom theme, and then oh

said it installed fine but then went all weird, NO stack dump or blue screen of death, just a weird multicolour screen with pink and green stripes and nothing else,

now the system menu wont come up at all, get blue flash, then just the weird pink and green stripped screen,

i;m assuming he's corrupted the system files?????

i cant get to bootmii, if i hold down eject or reset i just get the same screen, but I'm sure bootmi is installed as boot ios???

i think there is a nand dump, (duno if its his or mine) i did the original mod for him,

but how can i fix this if i cant get to hbc, bootmi or anything...???

    any help would be great

There are 2 options left for you:
    1. If the wii is bootmii as boot2 capable (meaning that you had the option to install bootmii as boot2), then you can inject bootmii with a NAND programmer. You can either do this yourself, or let one of our members do it.
    2. If the wii is not bootmii as boot2 capable, you can only restore the NAND back-up with a NAND programmer. You can either do this yourself, or let one of our members do it.
Awesome sig picture does not work

I would like to add that the NAND backup HAS to be from the bricked Wii. Any other backup will not work.

    Question

so i've checked and double checked with
    http://www.wiihacks.com/bricked-wii-...-your-wii.html

and a few other recovery disc's,

    No bootmii

tried putting bootmi back on sd with the keys.bin and nand.bin, but still the same screen with stripes,

and the nand dump is my own, so cant use that, guess i need from a a nand programmer .

any idea why mymenu screwed up so badly????
apparently he copied the files from my sd card. thing is i used it to install my custom theme without any problems, i'm on 3.4e

cant understand why he uninstalled priloader

but i'm sure bootmi went in as boot1 only

noway of getting into recovery mode????? with savemiifrii?? been told it might help????
dunno how it works but i'll give it a go if any1 thinks it might help lol

See post #3. No NAND backup = a doorstop unless it is boot2 compatible. Look here to tell.

Without the NAND backup from the bricked Wii, there isn't any chance of fixing it. Sorry....

how can i be sure???? if its mine or his?????
don't wanna reload the backup on to my wii, its an old back up and i've updated lots of things and like mine how it is,

DO THIS ONLY IF YOU HAVE BOOTMII INSTALLED AS BOOT2!! The easiest thing I can think of it to:

    1. Make a nand backup of your current system.
    2. Move the backup from your SD card to a safe place.
    3. Place the backup in question along with the Bootmii folder onto your SD card.
    4. try to install the backup via Bootmii. If it loads it is your but if not then it belongs to a different Wii.
    5. If it loaded then simply restore your system using the backup in step 1.

@OP From your first post it sounds like you have a theme brick and not a full brick. If you do indeed have a theme brick, your Wii can be repaired without having to send it out to a NAND programmer. Make a savemiifrii if you haven't all ready and see if you can get into recovery mode. If you're able to get into recovery mode you can run a recovery disc (since you have darkcorp installed) or use an official game disc with the 4.2 update on it.
