Below is a list of things you can do, if you wish to brick your wii.

Please do not do these things.

    Never....ever, ever:

    Never uninstall your system menu
Your wii will not work very well without a system menu.

    Never install System menu themes
Without bootmii install as boot2. System menu themes have a bad habit of bricking wii's. Usually because they are not compatible with your current system menu, and other issues. Installing them will remove your preloader, so if you don't have bootmii installed as boot2, there is very litle you can do to recover. Having a theme is not worth the risks. Don't do it, or be prepared to pay the price.

So... they say hindsight is 20/20. And I've proved that point... So with all these things we're never, ever supposed to do. Is there a fix if we stupidly did?

I was installing USB Config as a channel when I was informed my Wii was out of memory and had to go to Data Management to fix the problem. Now, there was nothing that I wanted to remove from there except for the WiiFlow forwarder channel, which was taking up a lot of space, and would be redundant as I wanted to use USB Config instead.

So I boot up into Priiloader, launch HBC and Wad Manager to remove the WADS that I had installed when installing WiiFlow and the WiiFlow Forwarder. (I should claim mea culpa here as when I installed WiiFlow, I was just following a guide a had DLed and just blindly followed it. I hate to say it, but without thinking I installed files named "Wiiflow Starnight Channel Forwarder-WSNF" as well as "4.3U_SystemMenu_v513DarkWiiRed.wad") So I uninstalled those two files in WAD Manager.

Now let me explain, I didn't think removing the "4.3U_SystemMenu_v513DarkWiiRed.wad" would cause a problem, because when I installed that in the first place (when I was even more clueless than I am now) I was running 4.2 and it caused me problems and I used DOP-Mii:Wii Brew Edition to downgrade back to 4.2, which I had been at before I installed this .wad (yes, I found out later downgrading was bad) and I assumed that I'd be running on a 4.2 system menu again.

After removing those 2 wads my Wiimote wouldn't work and I was left with no option but to restart, and of course now I can't start my Wii. It's not even getting me to a bricked screen, it seems as if its not even recognizing the Wii anymore - as my TV is just displaying a "Unusable Signal" on screen which is what it displays on the input channel before a device (ie. DVD player, console etc...) is powered up.

I have BootMii installed as IOS, but I can't load Priiloader anymore in order to launch BootMii, as there's no video on screen. The drive flashes once when I turn on the machine. I have older backups of my NAND/KEYS files from before removing those WADS.

I understand deleting your system menu (even accidentally is beyond stupid) but I also don't understand why I'm unable to launch Priiloader, as I thought that was the purpose of it...

Is there anything I can do at this point or do I get the joy of replacing my sons Wii in the new year?

Thanks in advance for any help, and hope y'all have a good new years.

Time to call a NAND programmer (streamlinehd, krafter, bad_ad84, erikie, deadly) because there's nothing else you can do. Sounds like you've removed a customized System Menu (something we tell users OVER AND OVER AGAIN NOT TO DO) and got a brick out of it. That or all the wads you removed included System IOS.

Yeah, thanks for the info, it's pretty much what I was expecting. I'll get in touch with someone you recommended and see what's involved. Thanks.

Look at it this way: you're in Canada. Streamlinehd and Krafter are USA (as is deadlyfoez). Bad_Ad84 is in the UK; Erikie in the Netherlands. Hope that helps.

As long as I'm not in France or Canada, all is well. Besides, I could use a good tan.

So accepting that the removal of the custom theme and system menu wads was the culprit to my problem, I'm still confused as to how it could affect my system like it is. (ie. not even sending a video signal to my TV - it's literally as if my Wii was not turned on, excepting the fact that it would be the world's biggest coincidence, it's as if the A/V cables suddenly died) Could the removal of those wads somehow affect Priiloader? Because otherwise, even missing a menu or System IOS, shouldn't I be able to boot into Priiloader?

That's called a FULL BRICK. Removal of a System Menu will also remove Priiloader.
