Isn't NAND programming a hardmod? I didn't know you needed a backup for it. What if I choose to send in my wii to Nintendo? What will they do? And is there no way to download someone else's NAND backup or something?

Yeh, I got it in 2008, so I figure it's old. Why won't preloader/priiloader work with it?

Til mid-2008, Wiis were BootMii/boot2 capable. If yours (serial # would be the most likely determining factor) is such a unit, a NAND reprogrammer could inject boot2 and recover it. Do you recall if the HackMii installer offered you boot2, IOS, or both when you installed it? I would suspect (unless you simply didn't know what you were doing) IOS install might've been the only option. If true and your Wii isn't boot2-capable, then there's no hope at all. This is why we cover such things and ask our users to follow our guides (in your case it would've had you make a NAND backup which also could've been used to recover your Wii by a NAND programmer).

fml I'm an idiot. So now my only choice is to get a new one...what about getting a new mainboard? that's cheaper than getting a new wii right?

Plus you could accidentally damage the Wii or board during the install.
