My brother was playing a game through USB GX and turned the game off. He turned it back on, loaded GX and loaded the backup of Fire Emblem Radiant dawn to get a black screen (first time this happened.) He turned the Wii off and when he turned it back on we got a black screen, which flickers indicating we are getting a video signal.
    Happy New year.

I just want to try and understand what killed your Wii. It does seems like GX.. because I got a friend got killed by GX.. I want to know if its the same process.

Did your brother turned off the Wii while playing a game or did he exit to Wii menu?

You said he turned it back on.. so you are saying that he pressed the power button on the Wii system and it took you back to Wii Channels? If yes - are you able to play original Wii DVD games? I had to ask because you are just mentioning playing games on GX..

My friend's Wii got bricked because he was on GX and having issues saving a game.. it's taking 5mins to save a game - so he powered off the system NOT exit to Wii Menu. But he can play Original DVD games.
What we are trying to find out now if he tries to follow the softmod again will it fixed what ever that caused that issue on GX.

Yhea i know - i can't understand it either how he can play original games and he does not have hardmod or modchip on the system.
I'm also thinking he installed something that I don't know.

BTW - yhea he can't access Priiloader as well - so he is keeping his system turned on at the wii channel until he can get a solution.

    Re:

Maybe it's something in 4.3u combined with GX. I'm on 4.2u with GX and NEVER had a problem. My buddy has a 4.3u system he wants to crack and I'm glad I found this post so we don't install GX on his system.

The only thing is if the game hangs on save and you have to force a shutdown, you may run the risk of bricking. Always better, if you can, to return to the Wii menu before you power down.

Just saying... Thanks and Happy New Year

We have not made any recent changes. Since the mod we have successfully played many games through USB loading on an external HD.

We can turn the Wii on using a remote.

Have the YuGiOh game currently and SmashBros save, if that is any help.

We cannot access priiloader by holding reset and turning the power on. This is also a first.

We're at a loss. Are there any courses of action we can take to try to remedy this?
How did you get USB loader with that Guide ?? I thought that it gave you CFG usb loader

An older version of the guide came with USB Loader GX.
