Argon Wii Bricked - unknown method of persuit.

    Hi Everyone,

Up until a few months ago I've had a perfectly working Wii with Argon mod. Homebrew, Wii disks, USB loader have worked great up until someone from my family upgraded to 4.3U. After 4.3 nothing worked, only backup disks. I tried to downgrade back to 4.2, but after a reboot only a BLACK SCREEN shows up. The system menu, or boot devices like Bootmii are not working.

Bootmii should be installed (last time I checked was 2 years ago). The front LED DOES flash twice on boot, as some have mentioned in the forum. Bluetooth is also working as I can startup from wiimote.

I have tried rebooting into new copies of Bootmii via SD Card, but still cannot get past the Black screen.

What could be the problem? Can the Argon chip to help? (modchip came with an Infectus j-tag encode, but I'm not sure if that allows NAND flashing like seen on one of the threads)

The Argon forums no longer work.
    Please Help.
    Thanks

you probably installed 4.2 without removing your stubbed IOS and installing the correct one.

if bootmii doesnt work from your sd card, try another one.

You don't need a NAND programmer since boot2 Bootmii is installed however, you do have a full brick.

    Try this:

    Download MMM_FIX_4.1U.zip
Extract contents to freshly formatted SD card
Insert SD card in Wii and power on
    MMM loads via CB2
    Choose Wad Manager
Choose to install all wads (press 1)
    Make sure everything installs successfully

Install Priiloader prior to exiting MMM
Choose App Manager -> Priiloader and the installer will start.
Follow Instructions to install Priiloader and then exit to SM.

make a backup of your NAND with Bootmii - Not a suggestion this is mandatory so do it before doing anything else.

    Sounds like incompatible SD card.

    Hello.
Thanks for the file and the input.

I've formatted my SD card (FAT 32) & dragged those files into it. Nothing happens. BLACK SCREEN.
What could this be a sign of? Is the system menu corrupted? Am I supposed to press a button on the Wii-mote while booting??

I've also tried these packages (after SD is erased) that I've found on the forum:

    Dop-Mii_v13_CB2_BB2
    cBoot2 + Wad Manager

These showed similar results... I wonder if my infectus jtag programmer can help? It has been 2 years since the last & final Argon update...

I have also heard of Boot Disks - would those help?

I have run Homebrew off this SD Card for ages now (Kingston) -- Do you mean it's a bad SD Card for booting?

    Ensure you have
    sd:\bootmii\
    sd:\wad\
    sd:\startup.elf
    sd:\boot.dol

    Hello,

Yes I do have EVERY one of these files, including an "apps" folder, which contains Homebrew, MMM, Priloader.

If your drive light blinks twice and you are using a compatible SD card (Scandisk 2GB or less) then you may have a bad wifi module. What type of SD card are you using? I know you're quick to say it's compatible however to run Bootmii you will need an SD card like the one I mentioned above.

Hello. Thank you for the input.

It is a KINGSTON MicroSD 8GB. I use it with a SD adapter/enclosure, that allows for use with standard SD ports. I have used it numerous time with homebrew - so it should be compatible.
