System Menu X - Testers needed!!!

EDIT: For those of you looking for a complete guide to System Menu X please see the guide I posted in the submit guides/tutorial section of the site.

Official Guide to System Menu X

Well this morning I had an idea and I think it was a good one...

The idea was to make a system menu that can't be updated. I need testers who know what they're doing with boot2 Bootmii installed. So far, it seems to work perfectly but it's only been less than an hour since I put this together so please share feedback as well as any ideas to make this better.

    Password

    Installs via wad manager

This system menu installs to cIOS150 so make sure you install this first!

    cIOS150-v65535.zip

Then install the correct System Menu X for your region

    System Menu X (E)-v65535.zip
    System Menu X (J)-v65535.zip
    System Menu X (K)-v65535.zip
    System Menu X (U)-v65535.zip

This installs a version of system menu 4.1 that can not be updated. Please test out all scenarios and post comments.

    Enjoy!

    Thanks and please give feedback.

When you insert a disc with an update, it will update and install any new IOS but not the system menu. Tested with SM4.2 and then SM4.3.

Is that the only change? Can you give any more details? I lent my boot2 console to my cousin but I'm still going to try this out

    Is the cIOS255 IOS60 patched?

Did you just max out the version number for the system menu?
    Damn I suck!!!!

well, it takes the hbc (1.0.8) a little while to get back to the system menu, but it gets there.

I can update through N and let you know later

Sorry for the lack of info I'm doing testing myself right now but all I did is set IOS60 v6174 patched to install to slot 255 version 65535 which I believe is the max IOS slot because there's only 1 byte to play with. I then programmed the system menu to install to the 255 slot and maxed out the system menu titile version.

Wow, that's nice. At first I thought it was basically Priiloader+hacks, but not having to update IOS's manually sure would be nice. If someone wanted to update their SM in the future, could they just install it (and the IOS it uses) with a wad file?

I'm busy celebrating finishing Calculus (woot! ) right now, but I may do a backup and give it a shot later.

Edit: I just thought of something. I don't know how Priiloader is designed, but do you know if it would automatically use IOS255? I would be willing to test that if you don't know.

Yes, from my testing so far you can accept disc and online updates and the system menu will remain as 4.1 so no need to manually install IOS, you can just accept the disc updates. I have not tested Priiloader yet.

Uninstalled Priiloader, took an update off NSMB disc (latest sysmenu I have on disc at the moment), and finished by taking an online update. Sysmenu still at 4.1.

    Syscheck:

    After NSMB disc update

    Online update

I didn't take a syscheck from before the nsmb update, but basically it was the same without all the stubs.
