Sounds like there is some System menu corruption going on.

You need to get bootmii installed as boot2 (assuming the wii is old enough) and without you getting into the system menu and being able to run the installer, only way is nand programming.

Could see if games will autoboot from the recovery menu as a last resort.

Yup, sounds like the case to me as well.

If you can autoboot a copy of Wii fit, you can get to the settings menu to do a reformat. See this thread - http://www.wiihacks.com/bricked-wii-...oot-disks.html

    Check out post #6
Post #5 may be possible as well.

thanks for the replys guys. Just finished putting both wii's back together. Not put top case on the dodgy one yet though till it working.

Ive used a gc controler and managed to get it into the black screen with 3.3 (eur) in corner. But i only have wii fit plus orginal to hand. Not sure what update if any that has on. And no update ran with that in so i am assuming not one i need lol. Do i need a specific update? That link says one higher than what the wii currently has. Gonna have a look for a list of games and the updates they have on. Feel free to suggest one if you know of top of your head.

Do appreciate all the help you given so far ;-)

Did you look at post #6 in the thread? You will need to be able to autoboot wii fit by making a backup disk and patching it to autoboot. If the game loads you can access the wii settings and do a reformat.

Yeah i did, but it needs a drivekey modchip. Guess my next option is to order one.

If you are going to order a drivekey just to repair this, it would be probably more economical (and more certain of a repair) to send it to one of the people who reprogram nands.

Unfortunately It's either that or NAND programming. Patching a backup of the game to autoboot may possibly work without needing a modchip but I doubt it. What's the wiis serial number? If it's boot2 compatible, the boot blocks can be flashed with bootmii and then repaired.

The autoboot + modchip method only works on a very small subset of bricks. Buying a chip for the purpose of unbricking isnt really worth it IMO.
