you don't need a game in the drive for it to work

I guess I can eliminate the bluetooth module from being messed up, cuz the wiimote still starts the system. One guy did point out that having wiiconnect24 running doesnt allow the device to power off all the way and the thing might have overheated. ?

No, I'm always shuttin stuff off before i go to bed, plus it was the last thing i was playing before i decided to goto bed. But i did notice that if wiiconnect24 is on, when the console is shutdown it shows yellow, when i started it this morning it turned red again.

    They don't overheat from wiiconnect24.

Do you happen to have a NAND backup?

I'm not sure if one exists, I can try to get a hold of the guy i got it from. Either way tho i was told if bootmii was installed using IOS rather than BOOT2, that this nand backup disc wont work

    It's a long standing Internet rumour :-)

And yes, with bootmii as an IOS it would mean you would need to send it to someone with a nand programmer or infectus, but its better than scrapping the board.

Only other thing that fits your symptoms would be faulty wifi module and there is no way to test it other than replacing with a known working one.

Could you refer me too a person who can do this work, one that you might trust or have gotten good service from?

I do this work, but not USA based. In the USA I'd recommend streamlinehd. But with the fact that bootmii was only installable as an ios, you must have a NAND backup from this wii. (can't use a backup from another wii, they are console specific).
