Following that NAND format guide I ran into the following 2 issues and haven't progressed any further pending some more advice. When doing the new NAND backup two consecutive blocks read as bad in the middle of the set, when it reaches the end they turn green however. More importantly however when i execute NANDFO~.ELF it gives me the error message "Something isn't right with the current setting.txt; Last chance to back out. Press any button to continue, or turn off your wii to chicken out.". I do still have my original NAND backups from when i first softmodded my wii. Should I try putting those on the SD card and running the formatter again to see if it likes the setting.txt from my original backup more. I'm guessing based on the two bad blocks and this error message that whatever is in my NAND is corrupt.

NAND is designed to have Bad blocks, do not worry about those.

I would use the Nand Formatter 2.0 mod that me and spxz0 did, it will read setting.txt from sd card and use that, rather than the one from your nand.

here is the draft guide using the new formatter:

unfortunately I have no finished that guide yet, so the pictures are incorrect. but following the start of the guide should get you into a working state

I have never been able to get bootmini.elf to show up unless it is not in the root or bootmii directory, and occasionally I get a green screen I have tried multiple SD cards, two of which are 2GB Sandisk, and all that were formatted correctly. I suspect that it is just a bit buggy.

Bad_Ad84, Quick question about the Setting editor I wasnt exactly sure how to format the serial number in the program and wanted to make sure this was correct. Here is a picture of my serial and a picture of the setting editor as i entered everything. Just trying to be careful and not screw this up over a small error.

Also one quick other question both of these NAND format guides say to use a game with system menu 4.1 on it, though i read on this forum that only one game has system menu 4.1 on it. I wasn't able to find a list but saw some people say to use wii sports. Is there a list of what game/games i should use to do the initial updates after formatting is complete?

Yeah my roomate updated his wii to play his games after I went through the trouble to soft mod him. He's such a loser!

You need to tell your roomate that he doesn't get to play your wii anymore thats for DAMN sure.

I'm gonna go back to square one myself. Good luck bro, let us know if a new SD card worked for you.

The new sd card didnt wind up being required. But i did get the wii up and running with the help of all of the forum members here. Remodded it and put in priiloader this time to block future updates. Just modded the other 3 wiis in my house too so now every bedroom has a modded wii .
