wii does not start during softmod

    please help,
I am not as expierenced as many of you people,
I was trying to softmod the wii, I did so with an SD memory en dowloaded the software from a known site.
During the process the wii did not react on the the A button or any other button, so I had to shut it down. Afterwards I tried to restart but nothing happens, I plugged all cables out, took out the SD card, tried to wait for a night. Nothing, nothing. Its just dead.

    Any help, suggestions,

    thanks a lot

    Peter

Is the power light on, and if so, is it red, green, or yellow?

If you want to try the unplugging thing again, make sure that you unplug the power cable on BOTH ends, and leave the SD card out when you try to turn on the Wii.

    No lights at all

Led does nothing, tried both end of the cable, SD out of slot, did not help.

I cannot assume that we have a malfunctioning HW. Too easy, it was during the softmod. One thing I did not check was if I turned off the wiiconnect24 (not sure)

When you disconnect the power and reconnect it, do you get a red l.e.d on the power button? Does it disappear when you try to power on the console or does it seem the console isn't getting power at all? It would be helpful for you to be as detailed as possible.

Okay well it sounds like a hardware issue to me. Did this problem occur right after inserting the SD card in the SD slot?

I'm sure you've tried the obvious things like checking a different power outlet correct?

Do you have a different power adapter to try?

At what point in the softmod process did this happen?

tried another outlet, it happend a while after inserting the SD card, the wii reconized it en asked if I wanted to execute the softmod file on the SD. Thereafter the wii started with the loadmii file and asked to scroll to "downgrade IOS35.dol", so I did so. Then there was a message in red (I cannot remember). Then I could use nothing anymore. I had to take the power off, and then it appears that the console gets no power any more. tried everything.

I should not tried this, but the kids were asking for a while to do so. Is my fault

Okay so this happened when Loadmii asked you to downgrade IOS35.dol? (Not sure why it would ask you that). What app did you use to downgrade IOS35?

It still makes no sense why the console doesn't get power. This really doesn't sound like a software issue. Even if you somehow corrupted your boot blocks, you would still get power to the console.

Do me a favor and look inside your SD slot with a flashlight and maybe even a magnifier to see if any of the pins are bent in the upward direction. I've received a few Wiis with similar issues and it turned out to be a bent pin shorting out against the SD tray.

The pins should lay flat so that the SD card contacts make connection with them when an SD card is inserted.
