A few months ago, however, I had just turned my Wii off for the night after playing FF6. When I woke up, the Wii remote wouldn't sync but the home screen would load. I tried everything and finally just restarted my Wii. Ever since that I get a black screen and the remotes still won't sync. The weird part is that I can turn the Wii on with them so I know it's not the bluetooth module. I didn't make any changes and it was so sudden, so I have no idea what really happened. I also have no idea whether my brother put something like BootMii on it so I can reverse it, but the SD card he loaded for me has it so I'm confused.

Is there any way to boot it up and fix the error? Do I have to replace something in my Wii? Any help is appreciated, because I still haven't beaten FF6 ):

    Possibility's:

    1. Nand corruption - Nand would need reflashing (last resort)
    2. Wifi Module
    3. Bluetooth module (unlikely due to powering on, but still an outside chance)
    4. AV encoder or what ever it is that screws up composite output

It honestly depends what you have available to you....

If you have a gamecube pad, try the savemiifrii - if that works as you see your system menu version then its not the wifi module.

You can also try component cables to help check #4

Check to see if your drive light blinks once or twice and also post your console serial number.

That's a tough question because my brother disabled the "annoying" system menu music. He also disabled the disc tray light but ever since I started using Wiiconnect24 it has turned back on (this happened almost a year ago though).

@Bad_Ad84 no idea what a nand is but the wifi was working perfect prior to this, and I rarely use it. And the Wii actually powers on with the Wii remotes, so I don't think it's the bluetooth. And the light only goes once; I've never seen it blink twice. Serial number is LU301200260

Yes, I do have a gamecube controller and I've tried the savemiifrii method but I must be doing it wrong because nothing happens- is there a way to mod a controller to make it easier?

Everything that breaks works until the moment it breaks.

"not using" the Wifi makes no difference to how long it lasts. Your Wii is turned on - so is the Wifi module.

If you cant get savemii to work, its starting to sound like options 1,2 or 4

you can test 4 by using component cables.

If it was the bluetooth module, savemii would work.

    So true

I guess I could try replacing the wifi module then. I doubt it's the AV cables because the Wii remotes don't sync, but I'm no expert so I'll swap them and give it a shot. Thanks (:

And I really have no idea what the nand is or how to reflash it
