Thinking of buying a bricked Wii

Hello everyone! I spotted a bricked Wii on eBay that I fancy buying to tinker with. Just wanted to ask some advice as to whether it's worth buying?

The guy selling it told me:

The console is softmodded, and running version 4.2 (PAL/UK)
It bricked after inserting a game and updating the system (resulting in a black screen upon next boot)
The Wii has BootMii installed (no mention of whether the nand has been backed up!)
He also said the Wii lights up/can hear the DVD drive working when switched on

I'm no expert, but after doing some research, it sounds like a low level brick perhaps?

Question is: is there a chance of fixing it if I bought it?

Thanks for any help in advance

If it has bootmii as boot2 and the drive light still blinks twice. that should be easy enough to fix.

if its bootmii as an IOS, not so muchh.

    Cheers guys!

I will ask the seller and update this thread when I know more.

    Update:

Just got an email back from the seller.

He said that the DVD drive does not light up, just the sound of the drive working.

Not sure if that's of much help, if anyone can make sense of it - kudos!
