Roadmaster, to confirm you the Wii market in mainland China, it's >99.5% Korean console originated. And, in HongKong (part of China), official consoles are of LH version. Perhaps, you can always get Korean-mod-2-Jpn/PAL/USA console in streets at a much lower price. Japanese originated LJ consoles are history, unless u really want to 'buy' one. Bear in mind that, ToysRus-HK sells both LH and LU units (at a much higher price) and never have PAL version in stock.

I have never heard of a tool like that either. Tools like sysCheck test what region the Wii is set to, not what region the Wii was made for. I don't think it would be possible to determine if it was a PAL, JAP, or USA Wii because the hardware is the same, but it might be able to determine if it is, or is not, a Korean Wii. I guess that would be just as useful, though.

It would definitely be possible to create a tool to check the Wii for the Korean keys.

But you are correct, it would be a case of "Korean Yes/No"

Funny enough, Ive just had another repair come through

"Hi i have a problem with my wii, basically its bricked,it is origanally a south american wii which i bought in china, unfortunately my son pressed the upgrade software and it bricked after !!!!!"

His serial number is Korean, so its not south american... despite what he was told in china.

Yes, you can have English system menu and the version show up as 4.1E and it still be Korean or any other system menu/region.

"Mii-Korean" -- it's an hbc:\SD:\apps. it appears "be able to determine if it is, or is not, a Korean Wii". nothing more.

btw, either in China or HK, people walks into a shop in the street and ask for a cheap Wii, you pay $$$ for a Korean virgin. ask for Jpn, you pay $$$+; ask for USA, u pay $$$$; ask for PAL, you pay $$$$$......AND, the shop made good money with just ARC. lol

    Thanks billyhome!

Here is a link to the app:
MiiKorean - Detect if your wii is Korean

Bad_Ad84, if you happen to have any Korean Wii's, would you mind testing this out on them. I have two US Wii's, and I will see if it is correct on them.
