Wii bricked, have Preloader installed (and saved nand) but never used, how to?

Ok, i havent touched my wii for a few months and then i moved, once i tried some games again none of htem worked. i am on 4.1u i believe. So I tried the tutorial for updating a softmodded wii.. i got to step four i think where it was going to install 4.2 (i think) and it just said hit any key to restart. I did that and got black screen.

So I noticed i still had preloader installed from a year ago (wheew) and i thikn i still have my nand but two things:

    1. When i aunch preloader, i cant access HB (error) i can only access sd card and system settings. How can i proceed in thta case?

    2. Where is my nand lcoated (or what woud it be called)

So since i have access to preloader i hope im still ok....just need adivce to proceed

Thank you!!!! Ill make sure to do it riht this time and not instlal things my cioscorp etc bleghh

    Download Dop-Mii_v12_CB2_BB2.zip

Make sure you Wii is connected to the internet
Extract contents to root of SD card
In Priiloader choose the Load/Install option
Navigate to boot.dol and choose load (not install)
    Dop-Mii starts
Choose to Load IOS36 (if IOS36 doesn't work try IOS249, 250, 222, 223) If none of these work you will have to use trucha bug restorer to continue.
    Choose IOS/MIOS/BC
Choose to install IOS60 v6174 from NUS - say yes to all 3 patches
Backup to the previous menu by pressing B on the Wiimote
    Choose System menu
Choose to install SM 4.1 for your region from NUS
    Fixed

Note: Make sure you reinstall Priiloader immediately after completing the above steps. This is what saved you in this situation.

Thank you streamlinehd, i noticed you grabbed that from one of the threads, but wasnt sure whihc since i looked at so many, thank you! Question,

    1. say this works, and im back up...so im back up to a fresh 4.1u or where does it leave me
    2. Also, what would my next step be, if im back up to a fresh 4.1 where do i go from here? i remmeber doing and trying so many htings, what would my next step be? Say i dont have a usb loader or HD and just want to load from disc channel or loader....

so will i need my original nand or will i be making a new one after the "restore"

Thank you! Ill give it a shot over lunch.

dang, doing it all over again...lol thats great, thanks! So this literaly takes me back to square 1...so ill make a new nand and everyhting... after that, since things have changed, am i still loading via loader or is there a better way now a year later to load via disc channel?

Also, should i be updating to 4.2 or leave things alone

It doesn't necessarily take you back to square 1 however, I don't know which guide you used to softmod. I recommend using this guide because it gives you ample brick protection with multiple recovery options should you ever brick again. The custom IOS in the packs allow you to run recovery discs should you ever need to and they also have version numbers which shouldn't ever be wiped out by an official N update. I'm not saying you should ever update but if you or someone else makes a mistake, you should be covered.

No, I don't recommend going to SM 4.2U because there's no real benefits in doing so. Stay on 4.1 as this is the most preferred system menu.

Thanks Stream! it looks like it worked! Well, it appears that it did...couple questions.

    1. it took me back to menu screen after i had to restart and i still have backup launcer and homebrew channel...should they be deleted? Didnt i do a "full" restore to 4.1?

    2. It also didnt ask to do a priiloader.. should i just do that in the course of the softmod im going to do or do i have ot do that immediately befor ehand (if so, how)

    3. So the nand I had previosly, i should just go with making this new one? Or should I restore from that?

    Thank you!

You just reinstalled your SM not a full restore or reformat. Everything is as it should be and all your mods remain the same as they were prior to the brick. I recommend doing the guide I referred you to however, you don't have to. Edit: Priiloader was deleted when you reinstalled IOS60 so Bootmii didn't detect and back it up when you installed your SM. You will have to reinstall Priiloader manually.
