A black screen after installing preloader isn't a good sign since it attaches to your system menu IOS which is likely the problem. Please post whether or not you're able to get into recovery mode with savemiifrii. Also, do you have Bootmii? If so, were you able to install it as boot2?

If you preloader update failed and you can not load preloader anymore, you have a full brick and it can only be fixed with boot2 bootmii or nand reprogramming.

If preloader does load, it can be fixed by reinstalling ios60-v6174, SM 4.1 and priiloader. Otherwise, I hope you have boot2 bootmii or a nand.bin.

Unfortunatelly it did not load into the preloader or recovery mode. Ended up getting two Wiis for super cheap. One runs so ive been playin my games on that for now. But i have two questions

    1. I think it may be softmodded so before i try anything is there a way to find out whats been done too it.
    2. The other Wii i got doesnt read games.Drive is messed up. Is there a way to use the parts from it to fix my original one? Thanks for any help.

You can just swap the drive to fix the not reading problem

Ok. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or what but the new Wii i got doesnt play backups mind you it hasnt since i bought it although it does play originals. Now i think it may have had some homebrew on it since it has the hbc chann and Bootmii as an ios. But not sure what to do to get the Neogamma to run. The Wii is 4.2 and i wanna get to playing my backups. Any help is appreciated. before its mentioned there are guides and i have read them but i wanna know which one would be best for my situation. Also im thinking of installing darkcorp and geckousb

The only way you can play backups on the new Wii is through a USB loader. DarkCrap won't make a (positive) difference, and USB Gecko is a tool for software developers. It was discontinued about a year ago, but it is being brought back (link in my signature).

Put the drive from your broken Wii into this new Wii.
