Get an in region game disk with a 4.1 update on it (such as NSMB) launch the GC trick aka SaveMiiFrii. The system should then update.

Hmmm... That is not good. To my knowledge there is nothing that you can do other then launch a upadte/recovery disk when in recovery mode. Did you drive work before the brick? I'm guessing it didn't. You might have to start with fixing it or replacing the drive all together.

Do this though. Look and see how many times your drive light flashes when you start your Wii. One time = bootmii installed as IOS. Two times = bootmii installed as boot2. If you have boot2 then your chances of fixing it increases greatly.

Yes. Thats a fairly easy process. You will need a tri-wing screwdriver to open the Wii. Have a look at this guide here and blog post here.

Don't do a disc update yet!!

First tell us how you bricked? In some cases depending on how you bricked an update won't fix it. The update can even cause a fixable brick to become unfixable.

Will you be replacing the drive with a D2 or D3 drive?

You have system menu 3.2 so your IOS have the Trucha bug.

Okay, you have 3.2 with the trucha bug exploit and possibly cioscorp so do not update as this should be fixable the way it is. Also, how did he brick? Does the wiimote power on the wii?

The reason I say not to update is because an update won't fix a banner brick and will make the wii unrepairable with a recovery disc. If the update doesn't fix the problem you will have to have the NAND flashed to fix it. The update will replace all the IOS that have the trucha bug with newer versions that don't have the exploit. This means that any chance you had to unbrick with a recovery disk is eliminated as soon as you update.
