Ok , how do you dump just the keys.bin ?
Then you could download a generic NAND with Modmii , insert the correct boot1/boot2 files , convert to bin , then flash to console .
This could work for Korean bricks , error 003

Is there any way to know the boot1/boot2 correct files by looking at the serial number ?

You need the keys from YOUR Wii as the keys are different on each.

To get the Keys from your Wii, you need be able to run homebrew on the console, there is no way to dump the keys without the Wii working. If you can run homebrew on your 003 Wii, you can already fix it anyway by downgrading or patching IOS70/80.

If you already have the keys for your Wii, you have always been able to fix 003 error by following this guide, but will need to flash the NAND externally.

Ok, but how do you dump those key with Wii working ? A full NAND backup with bootmii takes 15 + minutes , i guess just dumping the keys should be instant .
As i read the keys are extremely important , the nand you can make one , is it correct ?
Are there any files unique to each Wii in the NAND itself ? Besides the boot1/2 sequence ...

There is no tool to just dump the keys, its built into bootmii.

You should backup your nand and keys.bin on EVERY wii you softmod.

The contents of the NAND is encrypted, so the whole nand is unique. If you have a "Donor" nand and its keys, you can decrypt it, then reencrypt it with your broken wiis keys.

This is all explained here... I don't see what else you want to know.

If you have your keys.bin and a Nand programmer, you have always been able to fix 003 Wiis.

There's an app called XYZZY and it will extract the keys but you'll have to manually enter them in the nand-hmac and nand-key files with a hex editor because it doesn't compile them into a keys.bin. You will have to run the Python method mentioned in the guide since Simple Nand Converter needs to extract the keys from the keys.bin before it will run Betwiin.

Does bootmii create keys.bin first or last?

Could just start a dump then power off the Wii.

But if you are in a position to run that app or bootmii, you should just do a full backup anyway and have the keys in the correct format rather than just getting the keys...

I dont see a position you could be in that would need something other than bootmii.

Yes, Bootmii creates the keys.bin first and you can power down once they are saved if you must. I agree Bootmii is the best way to obtain your keys and so does Bushing as he has discontinued the xyzzy project. The project page for the app has even been deleted from the wiibrew website.

I imagine folks may get tired of seeing this ? in multiple threads but does anyone know how to get Bootmii as IOS to actually let you use the NAND backup it created? Mine just tells me it is too dangerous and then offers me the option of entering some secret key combo to do it. I want to do it. Really I do! And I know the risk really I do.... If I don't get the thing back to working I need to go buy another one before all my kids hate me..................

If I use these tools with my NAND backup which is like a super donor NAND and make a flash.bin file do I then need the programming chip mods etc....

Here are the key presses you need to do to allow you to flash the NAND when you have bootmii installed as an IOS
