I dont even know whats good about 4.x to begin with. My wii hasnt seen a firmware past 3.2 yet. I think stomp 422 is still on 3.2 as well. We could possibly be the only members on this site to still be using that firmware.

Nice to know for sure, thanks for looking that up dave.

All you had to do OP:
    1. Hack the 4.2 following a guide here.
    2. If you really wanted to go to 4.1, install IOS60 v6174 (and make darn sure it installs), then install System menu 4.1 for your region (but this is not needed, 4.2 works fine).

And again, DOP-Mii would have checked to make sure you have that IOS installed. The Point is you should have followed a guide here

Bad_Ad or Erikie can fix your Wii with either boot2 or the nand.bin.

only advantage is to update to 4.1, so you can use SDHC, apart from that, its pointless!

Probably more to do with the timeline involved with become active in wii hacking. Mine was done at 4.0 and is still the same.

SDHC dealing with what though? You mean Nintendo or homebrew or both? I ask because Im using an 8gb sdhc card for my emulators and anything homebrew related.

It allows use of an SDHC card to copy/play your wiiware/VC games from, i assume the homebrew can bypass this and use SDHC on any version.

Well I guess that gives me yet another reason not to upgrade to 4.x. Considering I dont have a single wiiware or VC game on my console. Wow I am way outdated.

4.1 was the last update that I can remember that caused no problems. 4.2 caused a ton of problems, but because I've never been on it (other than when I was recording a video), I don't know all THAT much about how much can be hacked on it and what can't. Her Wii was also having many problems with the Trucha bug installing and whatnot, so I was attempting to downgrade it to something a bit more manageable. This whole thing is a massive derpfest on my part. xP

Btw, thanks for all the quick replies, guys. My dilemma of finding out what the problem itself is is now over; my IOS60 is screwed up. xP

You had issues with TBR because you were probably using an old version that does not support 4.2. The simple solution is to come here and use the 4.2 guides as they have everything needed for that particular system menu. Not trying to give you a hard time here, but just let you know in the future to maybe check around the site before downgrading.

You never answered, is the wii boot2 capable? Do you have a nand.bin backup dumped to the SD card?

The Wii is not boot2 capable, unfortunately; I was forced to install BootMii as IOS. I'm not sure if there's an existing nand.bin from this Wii; I Skyped my friend, but she's not online and hasn't gotten the message yet. If I could only boot to anything that could load a program, I could easily fix this thing. I'm stuck due to the lack of... well, everything. xP
