Thanks for the quick responses. You guys are awesome over here!
Your best bet would probably be to get one online. I believe they are a proprietary screwdriver. I could be wrong.

oh, I forgot to mention I live in Bangkok, Thailand. Prices on electronics here are often way above the ones in the US and Europe. That goes for genuine products and not copies. Would any cheap Chinese knockoff do just as well?

ok, I will go out and see if I can scare up either a screwdriver or a cheap game cube controller locally.

Since I am unable to turn on the wii with the remotes it looks like it may be the Bluetooth module that is the culprit? If we assume the machine has not been modded on software nor hardware. Is there any other explaination for the remotes not to connect other than the bluetooth being defective?

As I understand it, there is no way to try the savemiifrii approach without having a Gamecube controller? I dont have access to one right now and a new one would set me back about $50 or 2-4 weeks from ebay. Neither option is very appealing at the moment since a repair would not cost much more in most cases.

Are there any other ways to diagnose a faulty bluetooth module?
The problem is most likely your BT module since you can't sync the wiimotes.

I'm not sure where you can get the right size triwing. I get mine from ebay but I hear they're hard to come by in a store. Maybe an electronics repair shop would be a good place to look.
