    UPDATE:

I used the guide in Bliepo's post and I now have access to my Wii settings and have set up the internet connection. Now I will try the other guide posted and soft mod the Wii.

    Thanks again to all!

    Something screwed up.

It was intstalling the WADS and then the Wii stopped and froze at the Shopping Channel WAD. Now it will not boot at all.

What can I do to fix this?

    Thanks!!!

Not sure where you were exactly in the guide however were you able to install bootmii as boot2? If so, did you make a nand dump? I hope being that you have a first generation Wii this is the case and we should be able to get everything fixed.

I don't even see a guide posted by Bliepo. Do you mean you were following mauifrog's guide posted by krafter?

It sounds like you were installing the UpdatePack from mauifrog's guide and I bet the shopping channel didn't install correctly. It shouldn't be too hard of a fix providing you have bootmii as boot2 or priiloader installed.

I followed the link that Bliepo posted and was able to get access to the system files again. Everything worked fine.

Then I started the guide form mauifrog.

I do have the following files:

    installer.log
    keys.bin
    nand.bin

Can you point me to a link where I can get this running again?

    Thanks so much!!

OK if you have bootmii installed as boot2 you should also have a bootmii folder on your sd card. If you do not then download this -bootmii.zip and extract the contents to the root of your sd card. Make sure your sd card looks like this:

    SD:\bootmii\
    SD:\keys.bin
    SD:\nand.bin

Insert SD card in wii and power on. Bootmii should come up at startup. If it doesn't then you have bootmii installed as IOS and we'll have to give Priiloader a shot.

If you are able to load bootmii then use bootmii to reinstall your nand. Just navigate to the icon with the sd card pointing to the chip and let the nand restore run.

OK, everything is back to normal. I used the bootmii and was able to recover the Wii back to what appears as a virgin state. I then used Super Mario Bros to update to what I'm assuming is 4.1.

So now I am going to try the mauifrog guide again.

Before I start, I want to make sure I'm not missing something. The last time I tried this, the WAD's were installing and it hung on the Shopping Channel WAD. It just said "Finishing" and never completed.

How long should it take for the WAD's to install in step 1 under WAD Installs?

Thanks for all the help guys!!

    Hi willise,

Did you ever resolve your problem? I'm experiencing the same problem with mine.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

I did get mine working again. If your Wii has never been modded, like mine was, use this guide http://http://www.wiihacks.com/brick...era-error.html

I followed this guide and was able to return my wii to a completely virgin state, then I modded it.
