Priiloader/HBC/USBLoaderGX brick

hello all,
I am facing a problem and would greatly appreciate any help.

Today I wanted to update a lot of the IOS and cIOS's on my wii to assist with playing newer backups, kept having freezing/issues because my IOS's were super out of date.
was running:
4.2u
cIOS38 rev14
hermes 4.something
usbloader r928
hbc 1.0.6
priiloader 0.1 r15


Got cIOS38 rev20b and pimp my wii.

went into hbc, and hbc said there was an update to take me from 1.0.6 to 1.0.8. Went ahead and did that. HBC updated. went back into hbc, and installed cIOS rev20b. Successful.

Then I went into Pimp my Wii, and per the provided instructions, just let it do it's thing on a 'test all for problems and fix any issues'. Pimp my Wii updated a TON of my IOS's. I was totally stoked.

Then, after I restarted my wii, priiloader does not seem to be functioning properly. Priiloader loads, and loads my system menu just fine. But if I try to access HBC through Priiloader during startup, I get a hang/crash. When I try to load my installed file for priiloader which is my usb loader gx dol, i get a crash. Priiloader only seems to be able to load my system menu, and nothing else.

I can still access hbc 1.0.8 thru the system menu. but my usb loader gx won't work thru the channel i have on my system menu. I have to go thru hbc to access the r938 of usb loader gx on my sd card.

I think i should have re-installed priiloader after using pimp my wii... I thought pimp my wii wouldn't touch/change my system menu/system menu ios...

when I go into 'system menu' using dop-mii v12, it tells me:

any help/ideas would be extremely appreciated!!!! thanks in advance! WiiHacks is the best, hands down. Has been very helpful to me over the years.

And which Recommended Guide here on wiihacks advocates "Brick My Wii"? Answer: none. This is further proof of why that application is expressly not supported or endorsed here on wiihacks. Users continue to brick their Wiis for no real reason. Also while cIOS-X Rev 20b is available, you'll find our Recommended Guides don't expressly support it, but rather Rev 17. Perhaps with luck, mauifrog can make sense of the carnage you inflicted upon your Wii; good luck.

nuts! If i'd have known that wiihacks doesn't endorse pimp my wii, wouldn't have touched it. got it from a private tracker that i trust, but seems to have done me wrong.

fortunately, it's not a full brick, as I can still get to usb loader gx r938 thru hbc, and now all my IOS's are updated, so I haven't had any hangs/problems with new games, but not being able to have priiloader boot directly into usb loader gx is a hassle i thought I wasn;t going to have to deal with again. anyways, i certainly hope mauifrog might be able to help,very grateful for any help. Im not a real big fan of people that come here to this site and expect us to fix their problems caused from using guides from other sites. Eventhough I myself have never used any guides on this site (as I softmodded prior to becoming a member), it just gets rather difficult to solve the problem when you dont have the guide infront of you. I before now never knew 20b was even out but I have heard really nothing good about "pimp my wii". I will gladly say though that the guides on this website are 100% correct (if followed correctly) or else they wont be posted. Once you do get this fixed and I hope you do, please dont use outside guides.

Do you have v.4 or v.5 of priiloader, v.5 has reported some bugs.

try installing v.4

do you have bootmii/boot2 and a nand backup

if not do that first

For those who are having trouble with games loading from a usb drive
Typical example is (Metroid other M)
Install cIOSX Rev 20b using 249 base 38 network install only
Then run Pimp my wii 2.11
On load just keep pressing A till it starts downloading DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING or you could brick
App folder included just put on to your SD card and run through HBC

problem is, I also updated my hbc from 1.0.6 to 1.0.8 right before I ran cIOS rev20b... not sure if that made a difference...
got some other advice to update my priiloader, would like to get more opinions from this community as i've never had problems using information gathered here. Thanks again for any help.

Do you have bootmii/boot2
Check your drive when you power on
If it flashes twice, then you have bootmii/boot2
