@mauifrog - Thanks for the explanation of how this works. I always use Dop-Mii to softmod and restore truchabug not Dop-IOS anymore. Wouldn't it make sense for all our guides to use Dop-Mii and IOS36-v3351 instead of IOS36-v3094? This would make most bricks without bootmii or priiloader recoverable via this method. Does the 4.3 update affect IOS36-v3351? It shouldn't since it's the most recent version correct?

You should have a look at the ios installed in my guide. That will give you good idea of my opionion on the matter.
Those who follow my guide would never have this issue.
cIOS9-v6174 patched to version 54321 with trucha, es-identify, and dip
cIOS11-v6174 patched to version 54321 with trucha, es-identify, and dip
    IOS16-v257 patched to version 54321
cIOS20-v6174 patched to version 54321 with trucha, es-identify, and dip
cIOS30-v6174 patched to version 54321 with trucha, es-identify, and dip
cIOS36-v3094 patched to version 54321 with trucha, es-identify, nand and dip
cIOS50-v5??? patched to version 54321 with trucha, es-identify, and dip
cIOS60-v6174 patched to version 54321 with trucha, es-identify, and dip
cIOS70-v6174 patched to version 54321 with trucha, es-identify, and dip
cIOS80-v6174 patched to version 54321 with trucha, es-identify, and dip
cIOS90-v6174 patched to version 54321 with trucha, es-identify, and dip
    cios202/222/223/224 247/248/249/250

And they would have priiloader of course.

ios36-v3351 is not the most recent version, it is two updates old.

You definitely have everything and then some covered. Since the versions are 54321 they shouldn't be wiped out by any updates and even if they somehow are, you have IOS90 at v54321 so chances are, even if a new update comes out the system menu will still have a patched system menu IOS. Great job! I knew I've been referring people to your guides for a reason. You are the man!!

Now we just have to get those other guides changed.

Just curious, any particular reason you chose to use IOS36-v3094 as your base instead of 3351 or the most recent version?

IOS36-v3094 is what is included in cioscorp 3.6, which is where I obtained the dip patched ios36. Since only 3 games that I know of run on ios36, there is not any advantage to updating it. But if I wanted an updated version I would have to first install it to nand then extract it, which is more work than I am interested in. Just an easy way out.

Very nice. If it helps at all feel free to add my video to the mario kart fix. I'm always happy to contribute.

The video is only available with the link and doesn't show up in public searches. Wiihacks exclusive.

    You guys are losing me!

It looks like I need two discs to try to unbrick my appearently "bannerbricked" Wii that can boot games in recovery mode(NC controller d-pad trick).

Where do I get the disks shown in the video? I see one that said Mario Kart something - I thought one of the posts said there were problems with it.

I'll start Googling around for the "Official N Recovery Disk" in the meantime.

Start with this thread and view post #7 - Mario Kart Fix. Once you have the Mario Kart ISO on your PC follow the instructions and make sure you trucha sign Partition:2 -Installer after replacing the RevoKartNR.wad. Then patch the ISO to IOS36 as described in the guide. Go download the Official N Recovery Disk syn-backup1.31 - Not supposed to give out a link for it because it's copyrighted so search for it.

I attempted to create the Mark Kart fix disk and it failed. I've burned many DVDs at this point.
Just as a test, I wanted to make sure I could still boot games. The first game I put in, didn't work. Then the next, then the next...until I hit Rayman Raving Rabbids 2. That game still boots off of the recovery mode.
The other games just go to a black screen after it displays 4.2(USA) in the lower right corner.

I "trucha signed" by doing this: "...right click on Partition:2 - Installer and choose crypted partition save. Then click crypted partition load and reload the saved partition."

I'm not sure where to go from here.

    Anyone have any further suggestions?

Strange that's happening. Try patching the MarioKart iso with this Wii Autoboot Creator v1. Make sure you are also patching the game to run on IOS36 with IOS Patcher (Download ISO-Tools). Looks like Rayman Rabbids loads on IOS35 and Mario Kart loads on IOS33. We are relying on IOS36 to work for this fix so make sure you're patching Mario Kart to run on IOS36 rather than IOS33 (the default). If you patch Mario Kart to IOS36 and also patch with autoboot creator then you might not have a functional IOS36 to run this fix.

Do the patching with IOS Patcher and Wii Autoboot Creator after swapping the RevoKartNR.wad with your sytem menu IOS wad and trucha signing partition:2.

(Sorry if this is a repeat - I thought I had posted something earlier.)

I thought I had applied the patches you mentioned but I can try it again.

Since the real MarioKart doesn't work, will a patched one work? Or is the whole point of "patching to run on IOS36" to make it work?
